Re: Which simulator? I haven't been using a simulator I have a nine eagle mini heli its 4 channel using the same controls as all it cost 180.00 and I have found it better than a simulator and a lot of fun only used indoors helps on a rainy day

Re: Which simulator? realflight g4 reflex xtr hanger 9 fs one Which is the best sim out there? I am a newbie and the first thing I want to get is a sim. With the XTR - I will have to get a controller which I don't want to at this time. But I also want to get the best sim so if xtr was the best then I would. with the other two I will get the controller in the package. looking for good rec?

| Re: Which simulator? Reflex XTR is a very good sim, I bought Phoenix as it was quite new and my PC was not a high spec machine. I did try out a friends copy of Reflex while waiting for Phoenix to turn up...Reflex ran well enough and if I were to get another sim then that would be the one. Any sim is going to help your progress in this hobby, and most sims will take proper radios and have all the proper functions. Essential because fumbling on the radio while your heli is flying is not a good idea...with a sim you can get used to switch positions while flying...try finding the Throttle hold while doing a real auto and you could well end up with a busted heli. | Re: Which simulator? I am not much impressed with FMS. There seems to be a swirling wind regardless of the setting in "options". That may eventually be good practice, but not when you are just starting. |

Re: Which simulator? I beg to differ, get good with FMS and your chances with a real model are much higher. I used FMS for a very long time, did me a lot of good. If I had a penny for the times I said that I would be quite rich. Dont forget, FMS is freeware...we really dont deserve it to be free. Rob

Re: Which simulator? Just how accurate is FMS compared to real-world model flying? I'm using a Saitek joystick and have control over 4 channels. There are limitations in the game versus real-world model flying, in my mind. The big ones being using a controller instead of a joystick, and being able to see the ground in real life. As a total newbie to both model sim flying and real model flying (I've never flown an RC aircraft of any sort), will I crash as often and as hard with a real heli or plane? When I fly with the joystick, is "patience" the only real skill I'm learning? Thanks, Alan
