Re: Which simulator?

I am new to Heli's. Lots of opinions and good feedback. How about a SIM that works with Windows Vista? I cant even find a demo version that works. I need to get started so I can fly this summer. Any suggestions? I definately want a demo before shelling out a bunch of cash. I also have a spektrum dx6, anyone know if it will work with any Sims?

Re: Which simulator?

I would use sim 3.5. Clearveiw is another I think about $30. You can call or wr ite all manufactors to see what will work with vista. I really suggest that you get with someone in you area to help you set up and learn the bird before you even charge it up. You have a fantastic set up with the REX and Spek. Also get some training gear for the chopper. As you get better hovering you can shorten the gear sticks.

Re: Which simulator?

@ pridekiller...I have both phoenix rc and reflex xtr sims,I got them not long ago.If you are serious about flying heli(rc),I will suggest either of them.
But I just realised I spend more time on the phoenix than the reflex,so you can make your decision from there. There are free sims out there, but come on....we are talking about serious hobby stuff here.
I took the advise from the veterans on here and other forums and I'm glad I did.DONT ! skim on a simulator.

Re: Which simulator?

this is an old post and i really should have read it all but i haven't lol so hear's my 2 pence worth the phoenix sim is the best out there but as with all sims you have to be realistic in the use of it u can just bang the sticks all day long and even for the total novice the heli seems to stay in the air for ever all beit out of control but in the air when if u tried it for real it would be a pile of bits within 10 seconds the phisics of the pheonix are outstanding but you need to allow 10 minuets at a time and practice your spacific move or u just get bored and start honking around without any learning curve, i have literally mastered a move on the sim lets say the pie dish for one and stuck the heli in at the feild for real and pulled it off because the sim has been so reall, they are without doubt a must and god knows how people managed without them in the old days as i've only been flying a year hit and miss and have learnt all on the sim from pie dish , tick tocks, backward flight , inverted ect, as stated before dont skimp on the sim.
