Re: Which helicopter?

Newbie here too!! I have been looking at everything on ebay for weeks and its all very confuseing so I came here for help.

I have about $375 that i could spend on a good heli, not that i want to spend that much but thats the most ill spend. So I guess what I want to know is what is the best heli for the money????

After reading i think im sure I want a belt drive tail rotor. Is t-rex the only belt drivin tail??? Am I making the right choice by staying away from heli with a tail rotor motor????

I guess my question is what too buy? t-rex, blade cp, walkers, any other that i didnt mention???

Re: Which helicopter?

Walkera in my opinion keep away it's going to cost you a lot more in electronics t-rex yes by all means but it's out of your budget if you add good electronics now what is left is a heli with tail motor did i confused you?? no you get what you pay for and in your budget you have only one choise tail motor heli unles you go for dual rotor like honey bee lama or blade cx but you will outgrow fast

theres shaft drive.....first off go to www.helidirect.com
the walkera 35 is shaft driven
the 36 is belt
none of the helis u mentioned are trex clones.
they are 400 class
trex is 450 class
20%bigger
but they can use some parts from the trex.
u dont need all the stuff trex has to learn
a stock 36
change servos and get lipo battery
and plastiblades and ur good to go for learning

Re: Which helicopter?

I think the walkera looks great but it seems other people say stay away. I went to the helidirect place looked around abit, looks to me like they only sell walkera, honey bee, aline trex, and some other belt drive heli. Like i said before I think i have seen just about every thing made by now, problem is the more you look the more choices I get and that just leeds to more confusion.

Did you look at that second link? what about that?

the money u spend on the 2nd link u have a very nice 36
the 36 is problemless now it has a better gyro
all u really wanna change is servos and later down the line the tx and rx......
get a nice lipo battery
brushless motor
u can do a lot with the 36 man.
its not like its not flightworthy stocvk
its just a tad bit underpowered and some people suffered glitches which in reality happens to all helis especially with that horriable fm transmitter
the fm transmitter is useable tho cause im fly the stock transmitter for quite some time until i can afford pcm

just look at what beorneobear did to his 36
and it flies better then trex for cheaper then a full trex to look like that

Re: Which helicopter?

both heli's state they are belt drive
the second one looks like a walkera
the first one comes with a brushless motor , lipoly's and a charger
it looks like the best deal of the 2
the second one has 380 brushed motor

i just picked up a walkera 60 for $150 shipped with brushed motor and nicads it works nice no servo twitching it all runs smooth so far. but some complain about the electronics in the walkeras. the TX works Great after i unrapped the reciever antenna

its charging 250 -350 for a 36 with brushless motor + esc and lipo?
at helidirect.com
walkera 36-150.00
brushless motor+esc 45.00
lipo batt + charger=41.00
plastiblades=6.00
servos 8-11 bucks ea
all the things ideal for starting with excepty the brushless motor.. u dont "need" it to learn hovering.
