| Re: Which helicopter? Hi Daz, First I've watched the video and I'm glad your posted it for others to see, now that you have people can now make an informed decision as to whether to buy one or not, it was very enjoyable watching him fly it, the smile on his face said it all well done. I look forward to you posting more pictures/ video's that will increase the learning curve and confidence of beginners. This is what forums are all about, teaching others to make a decision about buying their first helicopter, thanks you very much Daz. It was a real pleasure to read your reply to me. Again thank you Daz. |

| Re: Which helicopter? I am happy to be of some use By the way in the electrics area of this forum you can also witness my son crashing and it flying again within minutes. Should you wish too. I love this hobby and just want the best for everyone. Thats why I can't wait to get my hands on the twister 3D now. Then I can share info on that too, It looks good and has had a great review. Heli's are never perfect but I for one hate a bad heli. I got plenty of that experience. Anyway Happy flying guys and gals and Kids.

| Re: Which helicopter? Hi Daz, NO you have not been of "some use " you have been of great use, I agree totally with what you are saying and have said, I was lucky to get a ( dare I say it again? ) a Walkera #4 and have had no problems with it at all, I have no doubt I will, but I will have learnt and my losses will have been minumum. I intend to work my way up as funds are limited but already I feel I have had more than my moneys worth out of my Walkera. I admire you a lot Daz, and I do listen to you - I have taken you advice ( in retrospect ) and will continue to do so. ps Are we still friends ? ![]() |

| Re: Which helicopter? PMSL does this need answering, lol I know what it is like to be exited about a hobby. And boy can this one bring out the haste in us all. (me included) the first time I came to this forum it had only just been created and there were litteraly just a few of us in here. since then I have seen it grow then stop for a while as it changed ownership, A lot of people scattered to other climbs and some of the regs then returned. It is now starting to come to life again. and the more that come on the better the forum is becoming. It is thanks to people like yourself that these forums have such a wealth of information. If everybody agreed with things that were said by people like myself all the time, I for one would soon get board. More to the point the different veiws and information would not come to light. Who would learn from that? SO Don't be worried about asking why, Or putting your points to air. Its good for all.

| Re: Which helicopter? Hi Daz, Well said, again I agree with you and again in retrospect, if I had found this forum before buying my walkera 4, I honestly think I would have had second thoughts. My intention as you know was to buy a second walkera 4 and use my existing one as spares, but as you say, I have no guarantee that the new one will fly as well as the one I have, because of that and the wisdom you have imparted to me, I have decided to not to purchase a second walkera 4. Prior to joining this forum I belonged to many many more and subscribed on a regular basis, but I have to say in all honesty this is the best forum to date and I hope people will learn more about their new hobby via this forum, but more to the point I hope they will take your advice as you have what we neebies cannot buy - and that is experience. With that Daz I say thank you and amen to this thread . Neebies be warned I was lucky - will you be? |

| Re: Which helicopter? Ok Barry, I know about the Century HB V3, its a very well made helicopter, but again I will say if you are starting in a new hobby that you are not sure if you are going to pursue it after the 'Honeymoon' then people like me will go for the cheapest and if their interest is still there and funds are available then as I've said before we progress to a better product. My first camera that I bought 45 years ago was a very very cheap 110, why did I buy it? I bought it because I wasn't sure if photography was for me, in later years I bought more expensive camera's, Why? because the cheap ones I started off with were limited for what I wanted for a hobby that I knew would stay with me. I bought a Walkera 4 for the same reason as my first camera, and it turned out that the walkera has given me a lot of pleasure and still does. Yes I will progress to a better one, when I've got the complete hang of the walkera, even if I could afford a better one I would stay with it until I feel it is time to progress upwards and onwards. Ok Barry tell us what happened to your walkera 4, did the parts burn out? Did you crash it - if so how many times and why? I ask you this as this is a forum for learning, people cannot learn if other people just make statements such as " Walkera's 4 are crap", what kind of advice is that to give to a neewbie? - what they need here is constructive advice, once again I will say I have had NO troubles at all with my walkera 4, neither has my son, and also my son in law, who have just bought one. I am NOT a walkera 4 champion, I know they have issues, my point is for a beginner I am happy with it.It was very embarrassing for my friend who after buying a T rex wrecked it on his first flight, despite spending time on a sim, he told me "It was too complex I should have bought a FP walkera like you ". So please if you have had experiences of walkera 4's or any other model either good or bad share them with details on this forum, that way people can then make up their own mind, it's no good at all simply to condemn them without giving detailed reasons, as that will not help anyone. Thank you for your post Barry. Joe |
