Re: Which helicopter?

Hello everybody. I am thinking about my first heli and it wouldn't be very expensive. I am choosing from Walkera Dragonfly 22#E 6CH RC, Walkera Dragonfly 52 7CH CCPM RC and Esky 6CH E005 Honey Bee 3D Cp2 CCPM 6CH. Please, advice me which to choose. What are pros and cons? Maybe there are other better helicopters for that price?

Re: Which helicopter?

If you've never flown a heli before, I'd recommend getting a coaxial like the Blade CX2 or Lama. Much, much easier to learn on before going into a single rotor with tail blade setup.
I also recommend getting a flight sim. You can get FMS for around $20-30 with the controller. If you learn on the sim 1st (I did the sim while waiting for my cx2 to show up), then you will crash less often. Crashes=$$ (broken blades, landing skids, shafts etc).

Re: Which helicopter?

PS, your main choice should also depend on what your LHS (local hobby store) carries. If they stock parts for one brand and not another, that should be one you go with. This way when you need parts, they'll have them.

Re: Which helicopter?

But if I would choose from these, which is more reliable and easier to control?

Re: Which helicopter?

The Lama would be easier to learn on. If your hobby store carries the Lama, go with that. You can always upgrade to a Honeybee, Dragonfly or Trex or something bigger, later on.

Even though it's easier to control a dual rotor heli over a heli with a tail rotor, you will still have a learning process to go thru. Flying without crashing takes some time! LOL

But, by far the Lama will be your better choice to learn on.

Re: Which helicopter?

Thanks for advice. And is there a big difference between Esky 4CH RC Helicopter Lama 3 (Co-axial) and Esky 2.4G 4CH RC Helicopter Lama 2 V3 (Co-axial)? Esky 2.4G 4CH RC Helicopter Lama 2 V3 (Co-axial) is 20 USD more expensive.
