| Re: Which helicopter? Apologies if this has been asked before, but 15 pages is a lot to read through and I was worried that the answer might be different for 2008 than for 2005. I'm looking to buy my first RC Heli and I need some advice. I was looking at the EFlight Blade CX or CX2, but I'd like to have a single main rotor and a tail rotor. I don't want to re-learn how to fly when I upgrade. I'm also looking for one that's small enough to fly indoors around the house, but can also go outdoors. I read that the CX is susceptible to very light breezes and I don't want to have to worry about that. I won't fly when it's VERY windy, obviously, but I don't want to fly it only inside for fear of a slight breeze. Thanks, Alan |

| Re: Which helicopter? That's a tough call because the helis that fly in wind are kind of dangerous indoors. The Blade 400 would be a good Heli but flying it indoors should be done VERY CAREFULLY.

| Re: Which helicopter? Well, in that case, how about a heli that's good indoors and is okay outdoors? Say, if it's a nice, sunny day and there's a very light breeze that you can feel on your face, but not strong enough to move your hair. Any heli's fit that bill? |

| Re: Which helicopter? The 300 size fixed pitch helis like the DF4 but then you have to contend with tail motors and all of the other problems that a fixed pitch heli gives. The new Hirobo Quark is the best of them but it is expensive. Maybe someone else has an opinion because I have been burned by the 300 fp helis and will never waste money on one again.

| Re: Which helicopter? I feel that it's better to learn on a coaxial then upgrade to a higher end model later. I don't believe that you have to "re-learn to fly". With a coaxial you will learn orientation, hovering, flight movement, etc. Too many people have quit this hobby because they bought the wrong copter to start with and got frustrated. I did extensive research on forums and talking to hobby shops. I went to all hobby shops within 30 miles of me. Took 6 weeks of research before I bought my CX2. Now, I'm ready for a Blade 400 or a Trex. I'll probably get the 400 because of costs. Also, repair parts are much cheaper on the coaxials! |
