Re: Which helicopter?

I didn't want to make a new thread , I'm new at helis, I have a simulator realflight G3.5. I received a walkera 53-1 for Christmas from my children. It is fun but pretty easy to fly. I'm thinking of getting a T-Rex 450Se package with DX6 tx. Any thoughts from the experts...is this to much too soon.

Re: Which helicopter?

Hello, I don't know that I am an expert but I do have this to offer. I don't think that the Trex is too much heli but take your time and get the setup right and learn the radio well and you will be OK. And one other thing, You might want to get a seven channel or bigger radio so that you won't have to spend money to upgrade it later. You will use up all six channels right off the bat if you have a remotely adjustable gyro so you will have no room to grow or if you get into nitro later.
Hope this helps,
Huey

Re: Which helicopter?

Hi BABY HUEY,
I just wanted to let you know that I've bought the servos for the belt-CP on Ebay. It might take about 3 weeks before I see them.

I lubricated the main shaft on the Exceed-RC (50H03) where the swash plate slides up and down. I haven't tried it out as yet. It's very windy these days.
Oh yes, I received the spare parts I ordered for it.

Re: Which helicopter?

Yeah, It's been way too cold and windy to fly here also. The last time I went flying I almost lost my 36, It just kept blowing up,up,and away! I wasn't quick enough to think to hit idle up so that I could force it to come down so I wound up spiraling it down to a hard landing. Didn't hurt it but scared the crap out of me!

Re: Which helicopter?

BABY HUEY, I almost forgot to thank you for your help. Thank you, I sure do appreciate it.

I've learned, while watching one of those clips on You Tube, that there are upgrade kits for some of the helis that will make them withstand most crashes. At least the upgraded parts are more durable. Maybe it's worth the investment.

Re: Which helicopter?

You are welcome but watch out as some of the "upgrades" are just cheap bling that isn't as good as the basic plastic parts and repair parts for them are not available.
