Help Me... I can't decide

I'm new to this hobby... I recently bought a walkera 22e v3 and well it decided to die... I didn't do much research which I regret now.. but needless to say.. on of my connecters that control the pitch of the blades broke and the heli flipped and well is now going to be in the grave yard... I'm here to ask for suggestions on a new heli... the price is a little concern.. but if it's a good one I'll save me some dough and buy it... I can't really fly in doors... I live in a small apartment.... with my daughter on the way.. so that's a no no.. I can fly it at work.. just out doors... so I'm looking for a good electric heli... for my flying needs... I want to get through the learning and learn how to fly tricks.. and just have a all around good time once learned... and also I'm getting ready to by a flight sim.. to help with the no crashing... everyone at the hobby shop tells me to get a co axel one.. but I want one that will grow with my learning.. and not be forced in a month or two to go out and buy a new heli... any suggestions.... Okay.. adding more here... I've been looking around.. and I think I found one I like... but it's not a 4 channel... and I know this one will grow with me.. so here it is

2008 Exceed-RC G2 SE (Super Edition) 6-Channel Radio Remote Controlled Brushless RC Helicopter w/ LiPo Battery

It look more strudy then my walkera was... and I like it.. but still up for suggestions...

Re: Help Me... I can't decide

How well did you fly the Walkera? If you learned to fly it well before you broke it, I'd suggest getting yourself a Blade 400. Great electric heli that won't break the bank. If you shop around at local hobby stores, you'll find them about $369-389. They tend to be $489 on the web.

If you had a hard time trying to learn to fly and just never could get the hang of it, then I would suggest a Blade CX2 or a Lama. Those are Co-Axials. The blade has better electronics and pretty much most hobby stores carry all parts for them.

The coaxes will teach you the basic flying moves you'll need in order to move up to a bigger heli later on. Hovering, forward flight, reverse flight, etc.

I did research for a month before I bought my 1st heli, a Blade CX2. Now I have a Trex ordered!! I've been flying for 3 months now. I use my CX to chase the kids, cats, wife and anything else I can thing of! LOL

I have a question... I learned a lot with my walkera... but I want to get a trex... I just need some good suggestions.. on which one to order.. and where to get it... I'm getting ready to buy a cp pro... but I also want to get a trex to build it.. and when I'm ready to upgrade ... it's built and so I can learn more about rc heli.. operations... and how to set it up properly.... so any info would be much apprecatied...

Don't buy a cp pro. If you want a Blade, get a Blade 400. Much better heli. CP/CP Pro are hard to fly. A Trex 450 would be the way to go if you have the $ right now. You can get into one from $800-1200, depending on the version and options you choose. Check your local hobby stores to see if they sell the Trex. If not, there are a lot of online places that do. I'd be happy to walk you thru the different equipment for it.

Re: Help Me... I can't decide

I'm lucky there, my wife supports my addiction. She's already planning for me to get a Trex 700 in the next couple years! She thinks the big copters are cool.
You'll be able to fly the B400 for quite a while. When your servos start to go out, replace the tail with a 401 and replace the others with Hitec HS65MG. The 401 is pretty much a standard and the 65's are about the best bang for the buck.

Subscribe to helifreak.com forum, they have a kick butt forum and tons of info, video, how-to and everything. There is even a b400 only part in the forum.

Even though the b400 is rtf and "test flown" at factory, you will want to go thru it and re-set it up before trying to spool it up for the 1st time.
