Re: what makes a electric helicopter fly forward?

Some toy electric choppers will use a horizontal tail prop to control forward/backward pitch (i.e. what you've pictured). More advanced R/C choppers will use cyclic pitch, where the angle of the main rotors is selectively altered to pitch the heli forward and back.
