Re: Please help me

Hi There,

Welcome to the forum

Unfortunately I cant give you a hand in person but you might want to take a look at this..

http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html

This will help you from the most basic stages. Also, it would be worth getting a simulator (they range from about $30 .. FMS and controller to 400+ Realflight G4) that way you can earn your wings without it costing you so much money in spares...

Good luck.. Feel free to post back with questions... Azzy

Re: Please help me

thank you very much. that actually has been a good bit of help. That and the simulator for it i ordered this morning and hopefully i be able to fly, or at least hover before to long.

but now i have another issue. this morning i plugged in my chopper, gave it some throttle to start the blades spinning. and all of a sudden the power had a signifigant decrease. i think it is the battery.

i took the batter off the check the charge. plugged it into the charger and the green light didnt come on. the green light is suposed to blink when it is chargeing and be solid when it is done. so did i kill my battery?

to be completely honest i did not charge the battery properly the first time. probly about a half charge. because i was excited to start it up. you know. my fault. but i only got it yesterday. any one got any suggestions? i think i need a new battery.

Re: Please help me

Hi again,

Im assuming that the battery is a Lipo. If you only half charged it then took it out and tried to fly it for a while there is a strong possibility that you over discharged the thing in your eagerness to get going. If the battery is suspect, it will probably be "squashy" or puffy... A good lipo normally wont be like that.

There are 2 things Lipos really object to...
1 over charging... They often burst into flames if you insist on over charging them. (think incendery grenade here)
2. Over disharging... If you discharge any of the cells of a Lipo too much, it also ruins them. If memory serves, the minimum voltage on each cell is 2.1 Volts.

What you are probably getting is the charger refusing to charge the pack because its too low voltage. Usually when they get into that state they are useless.

If you are replacing the battery, you could do worse than flightpower or thunderpower, dont change the voltage from what you have already but you can increase the capacity (mah ammount) a bit at the expense of weight and size. This would give you more flying time ... chargers... make sure that the one you get has some sort of readout telling you what its doing / done and make sure if it doesnt have one built in that you get a balancer.

Hope this helps... Azzy
