| broken flybar removal Hi all, I was practising with my friend and realized that the battery was low on the controlller. So i went in side to get batteries. While i was inside my friend tried to fly it and lost control and slammed on the ground and kept it running. And both propellers and flybar broke. the bar is so badly broken i cant take it out. Any ideas how to remove it. The bar is is shreded inside the control tray. Do i need to buy a new control tray and brake the existing one. I took both screws that holds the bars in place. |

| Re: broken flybar removal Hi, Sorry to hear about this, you were doing so well too.... I take it your friend is paying for the damage.? This is an open and shut case of fwoc(ing) (flying without owners consent) lol Its a carbon fibre flybar aint it. That means it'll be fun to get out. You could try one of the following.. 1. Pair of self locking pliers (mole grips) on whats left of the flybar... lock them up tight and pull. 2. Piece of straight wire about the same diameter as the flybar... Use this to push the remainder out.. You may need to resort to tapping it through but it should work. 3. Drill it out. But the possibility of damaging other parts is very high. I dont think you'll need to break the flybar carrier but you can never be sure. Try the above and see what happens. You should check your mainshaft also if you havent done so already. Good luck... | Re: broken flybar removal thanks for the reply. Azzy drilling sounds like the only solution. I tried so many other method's i could figure out couldnt get in there. As much as i can see the plastic shattered inside the control tray. So it expanded big time and it doesnt budge at all. I'll have get a drill bit for it. After that accident i taken apart all the parts. The main shaft is ok, lost all propelling parts, as in tail, main blades and the flybar. Also the landing skits are broken as well. Good part he is paying, bad part the spares are not coming till next weekend im stuck with a broken heli. Oh well i got to much carried away anyway. This thing is addicting big time. |

| Re: broken flybar removal Good luck with the fix drewex ![]() Yep.. Heli flying is an incredibly addictive thing to do... once the bug bites, it bites hard and before you know where you are, your night ranger has been joined by 3 other machines and your doing the stuff you saw in my video (and more) and wondering if you can sneek off early from work to go to the field to fly lol .Are you thinking of joining a club yet lol ? Take care... Azzy

| just as a side note when you order parts make sure to order the main head assembly. looks kinda like a t at the bottom of the last photo on the right . im not sure if that's a look a like for a falcon 40 or what but that's the head assembly for one I have had to take that set of parts apart one to many times. when you order the parts get you about 5 of those. I can almost not take the main blade off mine without breaking one side of that part off or the other also get you a digital caliper from ebay to exactly measure the flybar evenly to the head. this is the repair im doing right now aside from cooking a new 4 in 1 unit this was number 2 anybody know a type of fuse or circuit breaker to quit tearing these units up. my wife dosent need any new outfits. thx again on my falcon 40
