Unhappy Rotation

Hi All,

I have a Belt-CP Heli and i have just change the main gear system. It was flying well before, however it rotates around when it is off the ground. and seems to be going all over the place.I tried ajdusting the trims control but it did not help much. Can some one please help and tell me what the problem is.

Thanks

Re: Rotation

Gdday Deland.

Welcome

When you changed out your maingear, did you disturb the tailboom or tail servo at all?. If you did then its likely that you havent put it back in the same place as it was when you first got the machine. The tail rotor needs to have a certain ammount of pitch (say about 3-4 degrees) when the servo is neutral... this is to counter the torque the heli has in normal flight. You can adjust this by sliding the tail servo back and forward on the boom slightly. If you have changed the position of things in the tail then this could be the cause. The other possibility is that the tail belt isnt at the right tension. If it is slipping then the tail rotor wont be going fast enough to do its job properly and you'll get the symptom you describe. Hold the tail rotor then try to turn the main rotor by hand (DO THIS GENTLY OR YOU WILL CAUSE MORE DAMAGE).. the tail should should put up a big fight to turn, if it doesnt and the main turns easily with the belt "clicking" then its too loose and you need to loosen the tailboom securing screws and pull it back to tighten the belt a bit. It should not be too tight though.

What part of Perth are u from? I spent about 2 weeks in Perth on Holiday about 6 Years ago... Fantastic place.. Id swap locations with you any day

Hope this helps... Azzy
