Battery Supply

Hello, well im a bit worried about what im going to power my New blade 400 3D when i get it

Well ive been researching and has found out that the Li-Po balancer that comes with the kit only has alligator clips to connect it to a power supply... Well ive used DC adapter in the past and was wondering if i should bother geting a spare battery like a car battery or somthing to charge it on instead of geting a dc adaptor?? Which would be cheaper and what do you suggest??

Thanks and warmest regards Tim

Re: Battery Supply

Hiya,
I'd go with a car or motorcycle battery. The power derived from a converted AC source is seldom clean, and that will shorten the life of your heli batteries.

Get the converter to charge the 12v battery. They're much better at handling it.

Re: Battery Supply

Motorcycle batteries typically run about $25 US. 12v Hobby batteries are in the $ 10-20 range. They need to be recharged fairly frequently as they're not very big. Charger for it shouldn't be more than a couple dollars. Car battery is capable of higher amperages and longer periods between recharge, but not very portable. Start at about $ 40 US. Chargers are in the $40 and up range.
