So Much Fun, So little money, advice please

I'm wondering if you are able to comment on a question I have. I'm fairly new to the hobby and have been flying 3 and 4 channel coaxials to start with.

I think its time to step up the 'fun' ...but a small step .

Of course, it will still be 'RTF' until I fully understand the inner workings of these hi tech machines.

Can you comment on what I shoud get? I know there is more to this than
Fun and Flying but is it possible to determine which of these are " USER-FRIENDLY" ?

Exceed G2/version 2
Esky Belt CP pro
Walkera DF's

suggestions are also welcome. my search/research continues.

thank you in advance
Tomas

I have heard good reports on the Belt CP, the Walkeras I have heard some very mixed reports of.

For 'bang for buck' ....I realise that not everyone has money to throw around...but have you considered the Trex route? I have a 450 XL and its a great heli.

Hawkman....I'll include in my research. I'm assuming that the 'FIXED Pitch' is an easier 'step'/upgrade ?

thank you

I've had that suggested too, and the CopterX but they are double the cost of my current choices. The Align group of Helis is definitely on my list. For now, one small step.

Re: So Much Fun, So little money, advice please

Hi there,

Maybe Im getting the wrong end of the stick here .

Id be a bit cautious about making the step TOO small because if you do that, the machine you buy is a waste. If you can fly your Co-Axial (assuming its a 4ch), then, I dont think Id even consider another fixed pitch machine because you already have one and you wont learn much from getting another. So Id be looking more closely at the collective machines. Also, Id be looking at the machines with a belt drive tail, because these are more reliable.
The trex is expensive, but in this hobby, you get what you pay for. Other machines to look at might be the Blade 400 3D (which comes about as RTF as they get). Another thing to consider is that an "RTF" machine, when it has collective pitch rarely flies properly out of the box and you will likely need to check and set the thing up anyway so you'd probably gain more by getting a kit.

Take care ... Azzy

RTF....huh!!!

more like WTF!!!

The best fixed pitch heli is the Blade CX2...I wouldnt touch the others...why pretend to be a 'real' rc heli when they just dont 'cut the mustard'?

The Blade 400 3D or whatever title it has looks to be a pretty good buy...very nice.

I would keep well away from any heli that has a tail rotor with its own motor...even if the main rotor has collective pitch....tail motors are rubbish.

The Trex series are a whole different ball game, they fly well and perform well in a breeze.

If you have the cash to spend...or at least save I would get one if I were you. A typical radio for a Trex is going to be a 'real' radio...which will last for years and years...get a 7 channel if you can...and you might as well go 2.4 ghz.

I have a T7CP radio made by Futaba, a great radio...the 2.4 ghz version has just come onto the UK scene now...so I might well buy one.
