Re: century hawk

Hi There,

Welcome

Servos... I guess you would be looking at something with a reasonable pull and speed. (Doesnt need to be digital have a looky see what airotronic offers). Gyro I'd look at the Futaba GY401 with the 9254 (I think) tail servo. This will run you about $300 but its worth it.

Hope this helps... Azzy

Re: century hawk

I used S148 servos on my Hawk...the 3001 type works ok too.

The forces involved are not that great as such, more importantly is setting the servo so you dont cause excess movement where the servo gets strained too much. A servo failure can make for interesting flying

Azzy is right about getting a good tail servo, if you go the GY401 route then you may as well get the 9254 servo with it...they are sold as a package by some shops.

Digital servos can scoff the power though, make sure to get a meaty battery. 4.8Volt is the basic...6Volt is better...the servos will perk up a bit. Mah wise I would have at least 1100mah...or higher.

The GY401 is easy enough to setup, do read the instructions though. I like the servo travel limit dial it has...this is a good idea.

Re: century hawk

Five without a doubt.

the trouble with 4 channel is trying to mess with the engine/throttle arrangement...this is not the best idea...it can be done but it will lack the flexibility of a seperate servo for the throttle.

Just use basic servos for the swashplate and the throttle, I used S148's I have used 3001's as well...the loads are not that great.
