I've been sucessfully flying planes for the past few years and recently got into heli's. I sucessfully completed 8-1hr heli lessons from the top rc instructor in my area. I also use the new Reflex simulator. On the simulator I can take off, hover, fly figure eights, fly inverted and other 3D menuevers and land without crashing, but when I take my heli to my flying location I have a really tough time with my hands shaking when I first start flying. Obviously, it's the reality of flying the real thing vs. the simulator. When I do maiden flights with planes, this happens, but only on the first flight, and even then, it's not as bad as with my heli. Anyone have any suggestions? I know we all experience the "pucker" factor from time to time, but this is rediculous! Last edited by flyboy : 08-15-2004 at 01:57 PM.

hi flyboy it will eventualy fade with practice these helis are way harder to fly than a plane .keep it up and take it at your pace don't try annything you are not confertable with. even i'm still nervous time to time just wait after your first crash the folowing flight is nerv racking but you get over it once in the air. good luck and fly as often as possible steff

yellowtang, Thanks for your encouraging reponse to my last post. Your response is confirmation to my last few flights. The shaking is better now that I'm flying my heli more often. I do agree with you when you say not to do things I'm uncomfortable with. I'm trying to ease into it slowly. Thanks again for the input! Flyboy

| Hi flyboy Just to show that you are not allone I too suffer the trembles even after a few years. I find that when I push the envalope and try new things it gets worse. Sometimes I have to take a break from flying the heli just to calm down. I can actualy feel myself getting more wound up as I fly. I have had a fair amount of crashes in the past and these still haunt me when I try new moves. If it gets to a certain point I land take my hands away from the radio whilst the heli is just idleing and then when I calm down off I go again. sure does wind you up sometimes. But thats why I like this so much. The adrenalin kicks in and the satisfaction at pack up time after a succesfull flight or 10 is great. good luck with your flying, Your not alone. Darren.

Yo! You mean the shakes will actually go away with time? It's not happening to me man! Whenever I fly my heli, I see a glass $500 dollar bill floating in the sky and not some beautiful pod and boom with rotating wings.
