honey bee king 2 6 channel heli

I'm brand new to the hobby. Got a HB King 2 for Christmas. Rotor don't turn when powered up. The transmiter only tilts the swash. Any ideas??? I need some help.

well ill say its not a surprise the factory motor is worth no more than the smell of burt windings. mine made it 2 weeks.. but this sound like the motor im afraid more like a speed controler. did the blades hit something with the motor spun up.. Burned up 2 so far on a falcon 40 see if any voltage going to the motor there won't be.. good news is the new motor (nice one) is only about 40 dollars with a new speed controler .. sorry to hear but your in same spot I am things we need to be told before we buy a model.. had known would have already ordered it waiting on the shelf to go mc

Re: honey bee king 2 6 channel heli

Thanks CompX.....I tested and found....battery- good...voltage out of the speed control- good...power to the motor- good..motor....no good! Check this out...I removed the motor and fudged around with it and it kicked on....weird huh? After learning how to hover for about 20 mins..it died again. I found an upgrade kit on the net for 50 bucks with a motor and speed control....thanks again for the reply..........Eric

Re: honey bee king 2 6 channel heli

Mine is about 75% toasted it will spin up but when you look down the top of the motor down the shaft.. You can see sparks just flying all down the inside of the motor I can show it off but that's about it.. Im afraid any to put any real power to it.. to finally finish it.. When I overheated it it got so hot it deformed the canopy..Anybody know if its likely to catch fire or just burn out once and for all. It mostly just sits on the self till the new parts get in.. The other question is how tough is it to install a new phased motor in to this model I know I need to change the speed controler any help would be great thanks again

Re: honey bee king 2 6 channel heli

These helicopters are a bargain but the stock motors are not! The brush motors that come with the Esky and Walkera helis are junk and we would be better off if they charged a little more and installed a good one in the first place. This is the reason that most people go to brushless motors but I have an old Kalt electric with a 540 size brushed motor and it is very powerfull and I know that they last hundreds of flights so it is very possible to make a good brushed motor.
The Chinese motors that they supply could be upgraded for a few cents but they don't seem to care about even the minimum quality.
