newbie need help....please

just got my new helicopter all dialed in .....blades track together.... swash plate
nice and square to the main shaft ...balanced so that when i pick it up by the fly bar it stays level......starts to lift just after 60% throttle but then it starts to lean to the right...now i haven't had it much past 3 inches off the floor but it seems to be weighted to the right...my trims were set a center for the first attempt at flight but now they are trying to compensate and i have run out of trim ...what am i missing?.....oh ya what does my pit trim knob do and is the switch on the right a bomb drop....cause i got this neighbor who i would love to drop a water balloon on at about 10 below zero.

Re: newbie need help....please

Hi Sledder,

Unless its like trying to turn over by rolling to the right Im pretty sure that this is normal and you compensate for it by adding a little left aileron until it settles down. All non contra rotating helicopters will hover leaning slightly (one skid low) because of the need to balance the thrust generated by tail rotor which, in its attempt to counteract the main rotors torque, effectively trys to blow the heli sideways. You therefore have to counter that effect by using the tilting the main rotor and therefore the heli against it... Make sense? If you have to continuously hold in left aileron (like half stick) to keep it hovering then it is probable that the swash isnt as level as you think (its amazing how little out it needs to be to cause a big effect).

The switch on the right is either a trainer switch (if it doesnt toggle in any other position), or some kind of dual rate switch. Unfortunately you wouldnt be able to use it to drop bombs on your neighor (trust me Idve done that by now if it could lol )

Take care... Azzy
