Question new to this got question help

been reading on how to learn to fly and i get the same answer "get a trainer" what if you dont know anyone or cant afford one?

I take it you mean a teacher?

I started out on my own, had no choice. I was using an RC simulator for learning fixed wing flying...on this were two helis...once I mastered these on the sim I bought my first real model,radio,gyro and the rest of the gear.

I found the hardest part was setting the heli up to fly well...it didnt take long but having someone there who was an expert would have been good.

So...you dont have to have a teacher...but a Simulator is a good idea for a start.

Do bear in mind: RC helis are not toys, treated with respect they are safe enough...but flown without respect they become a danger...and can easily hurt you or others around you...even the little helis can cut people. The larger the model...and the risks increase big time. So do bear that in mind.
