New here...Deciding what Heli..Need Help

Hello,

Im sorta new to rc helicopters. I have a 2 channel one and it was very fun.. while it lasted. Now i want to move onto a more controllable and funner(not a world but you get it) Heli. I dont know much about them but i know some. i was thinking a 4 or 6 channel more along the lines of a 6. Walkera Dragon Fly H22E i was looking at this one because it was cheap, looked nice and could fly from what i saw. How ever after reading some atricles i found out they can be bad/ good and are cheaply made. So i was wondering what kind i should get?? I like the look of the Walkera Dragon Fly H22E. I also want one that has alot of upgrades as i learn how to fly better. i am looking to spend no more than 150. Thanks for all your help!! btw i also own a super v27 bushless boat.

Sincerely,
Blake

Re: New here...Deciding what Heli..Need Help

Hi there,

Welcome to the Forum

I think Id up my budget a little bit and get a blade CX. I cant think of a better heli to learn on at the moment. It might also be worth looking into getting a simulator as well/ instead of as this will give you a feel for it and wont cost you in rebuilds. As you have read Walkeras are very hit and miss when it comes to their build and when learning to fly the last thing you need is to be fighting with the heli as well.

Take care... Azzy

good choice, i personally think the lama v3 has better manuverability but do what you please, and be sure to get spare blades

Re: New here...Deciding what Heli..Need Help

Thanks for the imput, but im sad because no one has it in stock ( v3 or v4) so i cant get it untill like the january 20. Btw have you flown the v4. What are the differences between them. (besides he manuverabilty that you stated.) Also any upgrade parts you would recommend? Like aluminum parts? however i have read that the blade c2 ( which is smiliar to the lamas) have lift probelms if you add the aluminum parts; is it the same with the lama?

thanks,
Blake

Ps) sorry for all the questions i just want the best heli

Re: New here...Deciding what Heli..Need Help

The Blade CX2 is a darn good heli for its price, I own a similar heli (Twister Bell 47) which has performed well...its not going to set the world alight as a design...but for its money it introduces 'real controls' and for standard electric motors it sure has a good flight time.

Check out YouTube...there should be loads of clips there showing how good they are.

this site seems to be really nice, but it might be in like hong kong so it could be a while before you get it

http://www.rchelicoptershop.com/cata...FRhZiAodQwMaHA
at the bottom is where you choose freq. and throttle type, your going to want 72mhz for the frequency, and left throttle type, it also includes a simulator

I've only flown the v4 once so i cant say im an expert in it, maybe the lack of manuev. is due to it being stronger, and thus less prone to breaking?? i really havent gotten any of the upgrade parts, my dad owns a machining mill so if i get the dimensions i might be able to make a few spare parts, i've never used the upgrade parts before
