Re: lcd lights

Make sure it's not in 3-d mode (idle up) if it has that option, and make sure the throttle and throttle trim is all the way back before you turn on the heli. Turn on the TX before turning on the heli. It takes a few seconds for the gyro to get organized and the light will probably blink during that time, then it should go green.

The controller (transmitter, generally called the TX) should be turned on first.

The receiver (RX) should never be turned on unless the TX is on. So that also means the RX should be turned off first, then turn off the TX.

If the RX is on but the TX is not, then the RX is not getting the info it should have... it doesn't know what to do. Usually there's a built in circuit that locks it up, and give you a warning indication (red light). Otherwise, it could respond to stray static and go nuts. You might get whacked by a blade trying to spin up full speed if the TX is off and the failsafe circuit failed. So always make sure the TX is on whenever the RX is on.
