Newbie pilot needs help 7ch transmitter

My throttle stick wont control the motor...It acts like the rudder moving the main rudder blades. Anyone can help me out? I have the dragonfly 36 and rly dont know the first thing about flying helies... Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also is there a simulator for this heli?? Ok now I was messing with the blades trying to manually make them straight pushing the blue down and the red up and I herd a lil click...And now when I Move rudder stick the main rudder moves but then the Servo thats on the bottem under the gears starts making theses weird cracking noises. And the servo handle thingy vibrates like its trying to move but somthings resisting. Please i need some help ppl. Im about to cry : (

Re: Newbie pilot needs help 7ch transmitter

Hello,

First thing is that there is plenty of advice in the forum about setting up the helis. What it sounds to me like you have done is plugged the rudder servo into the throttle channel. Throttle is controlled through channel 3 on the receiver, The rudder is controlled through channel 4.. The gyro is normally plugged into channel 4 and then the rudder servo is plugged into the gyro.
I would check that the receiver and servos are connected up properly. Again there are a few posts that deal with this information already.

As for the clicking sound you are getting from your servo, I would guess that the gear has stripped and the noise could be the other teeth slipping over the edge of the broken gear. You will have to open the servo concerned and see if this is the case, be aware that some servos are glued together. If this is the case and it is the faulty servo then it may be easier to just replace it.

Lastly,
It is great that you are Keen as mustard but one of the first lessons in this hobby is to take your time and learn what you need to know before you jump in. Read as much as you can and if you have a heli then use it to help you understand what it is that people are saying by referring to it.

Simulators may not have your specific model but they will still be able to teach you how to fly. In my experience a simulator only truly gets realistic when you make the fine adjustments to the sim model. But in general they can all produce a very realistic reacting heli.
They are definitely the way to learn if you are not having lessons on a buddy lead, even when using buddy leads they still bring the newbie on faster. So don't worry about whether it has your specific model just get the best one you can afford and it will pay for itself and help you learn to fly in no time.
I use the Reflex XTR best thing about this sim is that aircraft updates are free or you can build your own model. The realism is excellent and it can be fine tuned.
Another great sim is the Realflight sim, The most recent one is also very good but you do have to pay for model updates on disk.

When you say you tried to manually make the blades straight What problem did you have to need to do that?

Re: Newbie pilot needs help 7ch transmitter

Hi Darren thanksfor the reply. Ok well I got the motor to move with the throttle. I didnt know that both throttle stick and throttle trim had to be at 0. Once I tuned it to 0 then turned the transmitter on it worked. Ok but then it wouldnt shut down the heli just went faster...throttle and trim were down to 0....So with nothing else to do I shut the transmitter off. Then 1 min later I powered the transmitter up agian and nothing on the heli would respond, not even the Gyro LED would light up. So next day I seen that I think it was the receiver plug....I pushed it in a lil and I herd a click but still nothing responds...Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Cant believe that i thought i was just gonna be able to fly it right out of the box because it said RTF >< I tried to adjust the blades because the red one was further down then the blue one...They were not parallel. And i read that they were supposed to be. but I also read that you have to powere up the throttle and get down eye level with the blades and see if there level. Cant remember what it said to do when there not. It was the ballcrank under the main gears. Im not sure if you know what heli I have. Its the dragonfly 36 with 7 channel transmitter. Tried again today to see if it would power up but nothing happens...Ugh!!
