Almost ready.

Purchased a used T-Rex 450SE, but had to supply my own transmitter, Airtronics RD8000, and reciever. We finally got that installed. Wow, I didn't know how much would be involved, not just installing, but setting up the tx. Thank God I have a neighbor into the hobby.

We had a very windy weekend so we couldn't trim my heli. Both cars are parked in the garage, cleaned and waxed, and didn't want to take them out in the rain so that I could play. Hope we can get the trimming done before the weekend.

My plan is to just practice my hover inside the garage until I can get it to three feet and steady. I plan to be very patient. When I feel comfortable I will take it outdoors and try hovering there.

I think this hobby is very complicated and one needs to really study the ins and outs. I'm not mechanically inclined by any means. I'll do the best I can and I'm looking forward to progressing.

RAY.

Re: Almost ready.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I hope to hear that you are hovering and having a ball.

Re: Almost ready.

Hi Ray,

Yes it is a fairly complicated buisiness to set up. Your neigbour will be invaluable to you as you progress. If you havent already take a look at Radds school... http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html

Just one thing. When your practising in the garage, bear in mind that once going, they can go places REAL quick unless you fix it quick and garages (even double or triple garages) can seem really small. Though if you follow Radd it will be better

Take care and good luck... Azzy

Thank you for this site. I read a lot of it this evening, but I gotta get up early. I'll print it and read more later. It is very informative and looks to be something I would like to do in order to take on this hobby.

Thanks again. RAY.
