Question Mode 1 or Mode 2

Does any body have any thoughts on Mode 1 or Mode 2?

Is one better than the other for heli's?

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thanks

Garry

Re: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Hi Gary,

Mode 2 is in my experience the most widely used mode of the two. Both mode 1 and mode 2 have there champions in the hobby. The most important thing to concider is the comfort and the ability to use the mode that suits you.

In my experience mode 2, is picked up more straight forward than mode 1.

there is not any other real reason for choosing one over the other.

Re: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Thanks Darren.

I am currently flying a Twister Bell Medevac (Mode 1) and as I am about to embark on the leap to CP via a RealFlight G3 sim which can be purchased as Mode 1 or Mode 2, I need to decide on which path to follow.

I would like to try Mode 2 before I decide on which sim mode to purchase.

TThanks again for the advice.

Garry

Re: Mode 1 or Mode 2

your welcome just for the sake of giving you the information that you need, Mode 2 controls are as follows.

left stick,
forward and backward = throttle/pitch. rise and fall of heli and RPM increase and decrease
left and right = rudder control, nose left and right.

right stick
forward and backward = Elevator. in forward flight nose up to gain hight, in hover nose up to move backward if viewed from behind.
left and right = aileron. In forward flight bank left or right, in hover slide left or right.

Sorry if you already new this but it may be of use to others too.

have fun when you jump to CP. you will find that you have much more controlability and response. just take it steady.
Happy flying.

Re: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Thanks again ...

I have decided on Mode 2.

I am having my little Twister Bell converted to Mode 2 and have ordered a Mode 2 RealFlight simulator.

Garry

thanks again.

Re: Mode 1 or Mode 2

Hi, it's my first post!

I've got the Esky Belt Cp and Realflight G2 (I've been flying the simulator for awhile now) I have not flown the Belt CP yet at all. Just reading the manual, charging the battery, getting ready to get it to run and then trim it out. The manual has me concerned - I've been training on Mode 2 where the tail will move L-R from the Left stick along with the throttle control. Page 9 of this manual is very clearly saying Mode 2 is Left Throttle (good) and AILERON stick (Bad) !! Right stick is Elevator stick fwd/bck and Rudder !! stick is moving the tail. Perhaps bad instuction booklet due to incorrect translation - but the pictures show it also as the words describe. Anybody else notice this? Maybe it's a newbie mistake but at this point I've dedicated a few flying hours getting used to the simulator and now it looks like, from this manual at least, the sticks are different on this model.

I have enjoyed reading all of your posts. Some have been very helpful.

Matt
