Blade CX Parts

I've just started flying and have had a few mishaps. Ive replaced the inner shaft with an aluminum one and its holding up good. I've now had to replace the upper rotor head and swash plate. Should I be looking at aluminum for these or am I just going to start breaking other parts. Also I'm finding it difficult to find a store with these parts in stock. Is this a seasonal thing or should I have a spare parts cache on hand!!

Re: Blade CX Parts

I often recomend that you only buy the heli that you can get spare parts for within 24 hours if needed. I also recomend that you at least have a spare set of standard crash parts on hand ready to go so that if you are caught out for a few days your heli can still be used. I have enough crash parts for one of mine that I built and fly the spare parts .

with plastic heli's you will always end up breaking other bits if you upgrade some parts to ali. Heli's break more dureing the winter months than they do in the summer as they go britle in the cold.

Re: Blade CX Parts

Go to this website, they have upgrades for the CX that will make it fly much better, even outside in the wind.

Re: Blade CX Parts

Affraid this is one that I don't know nothing about exept that I have heard things said in its favour and I have heard a few complaints. I must say that the complaints have been more about the lack of parts availability. I have never heard that people have not received what they paid for.

SO sorry fella I can not help any more than that. I very offeten try out hooby stores here in the UK. Sometimes the only way to find out is to try them. As long as they are a big shop then I can't see you having a problem.

Re: Blade CX Parts

My LHS told me the reason they have trouble stocking parts is because the company only allows them to order 50 of each part. So that makes it especially hard to keep blades in stock due to the fact they get broke so often on this heli.

Re: Blade CX Parts

The CX2 came out in Dec '06 and was a smash hit. It took the manufacturer by surprise and the suppliers have not been able to keep up with parts demand, that is why the shops are limited in what they can order at a time. The supply chain should catch up sometime soon.
