Just introducing myself..

Hi!

I have recently joined the ranks of the addicted, er, enthusiasts of r/c helis.

I have a Blade CX2 that I have become somewhat good at terrorizing my cat's with, and I have learned that watching it causes 3 year olds to sit still for a minute! (This is remarkable!) I am definetly pretty new, but I'm getting better and having a lot of fun.

I also own an Heli Max Axe CP and it is a whole different story. Can't even hover it yet, but I'll get there.

Cheers
David

Hi David,

Welcome to the forums

Sounds like your having a great time with the CX, it only gets better from there lol. My cat hates the thing and leaves the room at a pace when I start it up

Take care and feel free to post up when you have problems / questions, Im sure somebody on here will know how to help.

Take care... Azzy

How'd you get that to happen? Mine wakes up out of a sound sleep two rooms away and comes running if I fire mine up. I had to give up on my slot cars She also chewed up the boom fin on the CP I'm building My fault, I should've put it away.

Welcome David - this is a great forum with many knowledgable people on it - post away.

Oh No! I had to give up on die cast cars and slot cars too, but it was little kids not cats. When I was a kid my sisters destroyed every model I built. Now my daughters do the same. Sigh.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be here.

Re: Just introducing myself..

Sorry to hear that - fortunately mine are grown and past that point. The cat, I'm afraid, never will be...

CX, from what I hear, is a great trainer heli. Coaxial machines are more stable as the main rotors balance out the counter-rotation that single rotors (like mine) are prone to.

Getting a simulator is also a huge help. There are several good ones available, G3 being about the best at this point, but also the most expensive. If you want to get a taste of how sims work, you can check out FMS on line (google it) as it's a free download, and not a bad piece of software. It lacks the graphics, bells and whistles from the pay versions, but it'll get you started. Costs far less to crash some pixels

Re: Just introducing myself..

Hi Emil,

How did I get the cat to run away when the heli starts up? lol

Well really, the cat figured it out for herself shes always been a bit of a scardy cat anyway but curiosity got the better of her one day and she kind of got too close to the B47 before I got it off the ground. Cat wasnt hurt, heli wasnt hurt but the heli and the cat havent been the best of friends since lol.

Take care.... Azzy

Re: Just introducing myself..

I just order a Blade CX2 also..got a heli for xmas (2 channel)...couldn't stop it from spinning...my 2nd as such..my wife said...you heli never work...so those are fighting words...i spent MORE money.

Anyway..I never had a co-axial..but I am assuming that I don't need a SIM for that right? I had no trouble(well not much) with my cheap non-coaxial.

I think all those years playing Janes Apache AH-64 Longbow...got a feel for it.

Re: Just introducing myself..

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the RC Heli world. I just ordered a Dragon Belt Drive 6 Channel RC Helicopter W/Flight Simulator. This is my first heli, so it's my trainer, is this wise?. It says it's just like the T-rex, but less expensive. I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience with this heli? From what I've read, it's ready to go out of the box, anybody have a different opinion about that? I also ordered a training kit with it, how much time should I spend on the simulater before even attempting to fly? Will the motor with this heli have enough power, or will I need to upgrade, if so, what motor is best?

This is a link to the heli I ordered http://www.trendtimes.com/6-channel-...elt-drive.html
