FS ONE- need help

I picked up the FS One sim today and I am hoping someone can help me with a small glitch. I'm trying to get it set up with my radio (JR XP6102) and all goes well except that the throttle is reversed (down is full throttle and up is idle) I have tried reversing my Tx servo setting and the setting in the program with no luck. It is getting under my skin as the feel is totaly different (of course) and I'm having enough time trying to hover without this problem. All other settings seem to work fine. Anyone with any ideas? It is likely a simple problem as I'm not real familiar with comp. radios or this software

Thanks.

Mark

Re: FS ONE- need help

Ok, I have a stupid question here.....the throttle on a heli is not the same as an airplane is it? The way I have the sim set up right now the throttle goes from idle (at center stick) to full throttle with the left stick all the way down (toward me) is that correct? I'm up and flying now.....seems realistic but I don't have my heli yet.

Re: FS ONE- need help

Hiya Termite,
The throttle on helis, American Radios anyway, is the left stick is throttle, and idle in at the bottom, left stick alla way down, with trim alla way down, also it is a safety factor, if stick and trim are always at bottom it is a visual and physical mark to let you know.
The FSOne...sry don't know about it, have G3 myself, but can't see how they would be so different, when mine is being set up it makes me do a controls setup, moving the stick and trims then having the settings saved.
I'm sure you just missed something in the setup, just go over the tutorial again, there are many things I am still learning on mine that I didn't know, man these things can do practically everything, and from what I have read you have a really nice program in the FSOne.
Im sure someone else with alot more knowledge will come and give you the answer you really need, just trying to help with what little I know.
Good luck and have fun,
Blue

Hey,
There are two ways to set up a heli throttle depending on what flight "mode" you want to use - namely for inverted or non-inverted flight. If those are adjustable in the sim, check the settings.
Center idle is for flying inverted as I understand it. Full throttle right side up will be away from you, and upside down towards you.
The other way to set it up is the same as for airplane, like you said. 0 throttle all the way down, 100% away from you.
From what I've heard, FS is a great sim, and I wouldn't doubt that those settings are adjustable. What it sounds like you've got is a combination issue, in that the throttle is set for center idle, and that the sim is not recognizing the full range of stick travel.
You have to be able to adjust the stick range from one of the set up pages, as blue said. Even FMS does that

Just re-read your post and noticed you have the same radio I do. Check your throttle curve settings - it sound's like there may be an issue there, where throttle may be set to 0 above (away from you) 50% stick.
You might try using a different model and initialize all the settings for heli - linear throttle and pitch curves, etc.

Re: FS ONE- need help

Hey, 'nuther quick thing - I just ran across this from NewHeliPilot on the "wow looks easier than it is thread". There may be a bug with the FS1/JR6102 combo:

"For simulators why not try FS One by Hangar 9. I just bought it last night when I got my Blade CP, and Im tellin you when I got the heli out a few hours ago, it handled EXACTLY like it did on the simulator, only difference my JR XP6102 TX wont calibrate right for throttle, so it takes off under half stick on the simulator. Anyways graphics are awesome and if you use your own controller (assuming you have a connection for it already, or can use the one it comes with) FS One is $30 cheaper than Realflight G3, if you need to buy the package with a TX, its $10 more, but it already has the BCP and the BCX on it, with or without training gear."

might wanna pm him to see if he found a solution.

Re: FS ONE- need help

Hey, Thanks for the tip! I PM'd him to see. I think my mixing may be messed up, I'm EXTREMLY new to heli's so I'm not sure I know what I'm doing. I'm betting it is just a setting but it is getting frustrating trying to figure it out

Re: FS ONE- need help

No problem,
the JR's a great radio, just a little difficult to navigate. It'll come together, just takes some time.
