Question honeybee 2 problem, red light at full throttle

I have a honeybee 2 helicopter. I have flown it only one and then recharged the battery. now when i go full throttle i have a red led light on and it will not take off. it only goes red at full throtle. It is green the rest of the time. Everything else seems to work fine. The battery is brand new with only two charges on it. Any help would be greatly apprecated.

Are you using a nicad battery? If you are try charging it till its very warm and then try your heli again. If you are using a lipo battery check the voltage you may have over discharged it. The red light will come on when the throttle stick is over 3/4 up thats the way it works.

Buy a new one or two heres where most people who fly the FP get there batterys here. www.commonsenserc.com once you over discharge a lipo its hard to bring it back. The battery to use is the 7.4 800mah 8c or 10c make sure that you have a real good charger for lipos. Never use more than 80% of the useable power in a lipo as a guideline. I set the timer on my radio for 10 minutes and land at that point that gives me plenty to spare.

The battery is reading 12.38 volts. The battery is a 11.1 volt. Do you think it is good.

Hey Erion,
one way to find out is to measure the voltage on the battery. It should be at least 3.7v per cell (so, for example, if a 2 cell battery, output should be 7.4v minimum.) If it's less than 3.7v per cell, you've discharged a cell (or more) too far. If the pack has a balancing lead on it in addition to the output lead, you can check each cell individually to see which cell is bad. (Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to replace a bad cell.)
If the voltage is too low, dispose of the pack! (be sure to follow appropriate disposal instructions as improperly discarded pack are both an environmental and a safety hazard.)
LiPo's are impossible to bring back from an over discharged situation, and can actually be dangerous to continue using. Reason for that is that even with a charger designed for LiPo's, without balancing equipment, it will try to charge the whole pack to the appropriate voltage. What will happen is that the cell(s) that are still good will get overcharged and potentially catch fire, or worse, explode.
Hate to say it 'cuz I know they're expensive, but if you can't verify that the pack isn't over discharged, I'd toss it. If you don't have a voltmeter, your lhs can likely help out and check the pack for you. Better that than a flying bomb or the garage burns down...

Happy flying - but safety first,

Emil

Hey Erion,
battery is good. Per my last post, if you have a balancing lead on the pack you can check each individual cell. Should read 3.7 min, per. Pack as whole is over 11.1, so you're ok.
Unfortunately, I just know batteries. I'm too new to heli's myself to help you out with the problem - which - from where I sit, isn't the battery.

Sorry - can anyone else jump in here??

Regards,
Emil

Is your heli a cp2 or a fp2? the reason I ask is there 4 in 1s are different. They will handie different voltages did you do the fuse mod on the main motor and the tail motor? We need more information to be able to help you out.
