Heli Combo Kit A, B or C?

Hello everyone,

I've been reading about rc helicopters for a long time now and started practicing on a simulator and I think I'm finally ready to make a purchase. I received a payment voucher from the paymaster, aka my wife, for $600. Since I don't really have any other heli pilots to consult with so I thought I'd buy a combo kit to make it easier to start. I was trying to decide between the T-Rex 450X combo, Blade CP Pro RTF or Hummingbird V3 kit. My goals are to really develop then hone my basic flying skills. I ultimately want to go into scale flying. I'm not really that interested in 3D flying tho I suppose I would want to proficient with a few basic concepts of 3d flying. Anyway, I was hoping someone could give me some info on which might be the best kit for me, or if they know of another that would be better. Thanks

Re: Heli Combo Kit A, B or C?

Hi there,

Welcome

If you can hold a good hover plus move a bit on the sim then Id say get the t-rex (try to get the XL though). If you can get a complete rig with all servos, gyro tx batteries, charger ect for the money allowed. The only thing Id say is that it will cost more to fix when it breaks and it will probably be more difficult to set up than the other 2 (especially for a beginner). Its also worth noting that the T-Rex now has a variety of bodies becoming available for it so if scale is what you want then you dont even need to get another heli.

If you buy the trex, it would be worth finding somebody experienced to set it up for you once youve built it cos that will give you a better chance with it.

Hope this is of some use... Azzy

Re: Heli Combo Kit A, B or C?

That does help. Thanks a lot for the info. Hopefully I'll find someone in the area that flies helis. I live less than a mile from Waco field where the XFC is held in Ohio. I see plenty of RC airplane fliers. Hopefully someone will know a heli pilot. Thanks again for the input
