Hi, im a newbie. I was wondering if you pros can help me on deciding. I have my eye on either the Raptor 30 V2 or the Stinger 30. W/c is better? I saw a package in helihobby.com for the Raptor for $849 w/ these items: - TTR4839-K21 Raptor 30 V2 Sport Kit 29BB w/ PRO-3 Engine - HRC158724 Hitec Optic 6 FM TX with 4-325HB Servos and RX Q-PCM - TTR1263 Carrymaster Combo ( Complete Package ) - 720717 Ikarus Profi Micro Gyro - BMS-621MG High-Speed Standard Size Servo JR/Hitec is this cheap or would i be better off w/ other items. Any comments on this package? The Stinger goes for about $549 w/ this items at gohbee.com: - TTR4839-K21 Raptor 30 V2 Sport Kit 29BB w/ PRO-3 Engine - HRC158724 Hitec Optic 6 FM TX with 4-325HB Servos and RX Q-PCM - TTR1263 Carrymaster Combo ( Complete Package ) - 720717 Ikarus Profi Micro Gyro - BMS-621MG High-Speed Standard Size Servo JR/Hitec they said i need this additional items: Starter Extention Shaft; Gohbee PN: 60006S Radio Transmitter / Receiver & Batteries 4 Servos 15-30% Nitro Helicopter Glow fuel. Will all of this cost me around the same price as the Raptor??? Im really hoping to decided before Christmas (a christmas gift from wifey hopefully).

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli I havent heard of the Stinger 30....but Raptors are very popular....good choice going for glo fuel power....this is what you want when starting out....make sure to get help before flying...RC helis are difficult to fly...but once mastered they are a lot of fun. Rob

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli I think the tt abc motors are sorry, and i would say not to buy a "combo" you'll find they give you sorry servos and radio. I would say you should buy it heli then good servos and gyro and so on. I bought a combo and ended up replacing half or more of my stuff because it just wasn't good enough to fly the chopper. I have a venture 50 and a raptor 30. Both are nice the venture is very stable as a 30 with training flybar and paddles smooth flying but once you get the hang of flyin theres not much room for improvment raptors have many upgrades your choice good luck

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli Keep away from ABC type engines...get a 'ringed' engine....easier starting for one thing. Radio gear? get the best you can afford....I dont know the optic type radio....I use a Futaba 7chp...a good radio system that supports a few different setups....like eCCPM for one. Gyro? get the best you can afford....preferably one with 'heading hold' this can be an optional switched feature. Getting a good engine (try OS ) radio and gyro etc is crucial.....a nice heli with crappy equipment is a waste of time. Good equipment will last for years, if looked after.....replacing a heli is cheaper than replacing useless equipment.

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli Thank you very much guys. I will try getting the parts (heli, gyro, radio, etc.) one by one & see how much it will go. Do you guys have any good e-shops to suggest? Thanks again. ![]()

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli The Kyosho Caliber 30 is a nice heli. It costs about $280. For gyro, I like the Futaba GY401 w/S9254 servo. It's kinda expensive though, about $220.

Re: Pls. help on 30 size heli I run JR G500T with a 810G tail servo i belive you can get this combo for 200 but you have to remember to look and make sure your servos and gyro runs 4.8 to 6.0 volts the g500t and 810g call for 4.8 so i have to run a voltage reg to begin my 6v battery down never used the 401 gyro but i heard its really good but like i said make sure you check to make sure the voltage it calls for if it says 4.8-6.0 and you run a 6volt battery then you should probl still run a reg b/c a 6 volt puts 7 full change you may alrdy know this but i burnt 2 810 servos up before i figured out i needed a reg just a pointer to save u time and money ![]()
