Rerkins Twister.

Wanting to get started in indoor heli flying - big problem deciding which one to have a shot at, but so far I'm very interested in the Perkins Twister V2 CP - I've found a fairly good offer with a package deal but I'd really appreciate any comments from Twister users (not to be confused with the Bell Twister with the contra rotating blades.) I was nearly convinced at one time that the Hummingbird would be a good starter but I've spotted a couple of reports from users saying that the tail motor frequently packs in. Very confusing. Anyway thanks in advance. to anyone who can give me some advice..

Re: Rerkins Twister.

Twister is one of the best in it's class but it has the same problems as all hellis that have a tail mottor (sooner or later you need a new tail mottor heatsinks help a lot)

Re: Rerkins Twister.

Have an HBV4 - so far no tail motor loss, but read about that myself before I bought. At $7.00 a pop, I figured can't hurt to buy a couple spares when I bought the kit. Got heatsinks as well. The motor can also be replaced by a heavy duty model for $ 14.00.
Eventually going to 3D pro to eliminate the tail motor, but didn't want to destroy a more expensive machine learning.

Happy flying - or in my case rolling around on the training wheels.

Re: Rerkins Twister.

My friend has this heli....it doesnt fly well because its battery isnt properly charged up...

I have the Bell 47 counter rotating blade type.....and its actually very good value for money.....I fly larger nitro helis.....and I think the little bell 47 is a real bargain....it has full control and is just fun...fun....fun

The V2 Twister will fly outside.....in a light breeze.....the bell 47 wont and its not worth trying it out.

The V2 is actually a common machine...look closely at other 'makes' and you will see the same frames, blades, motor etc etc.
