Need Your Input Please As with everyone else at somepoint, I am new to the heli scene. I have had RC cars and trucks, nitro and electric and need input on which of the following one would recommend for a newbie. My only requirements are electric, under $300.00 and something I can upgrade (won't need to get rid of soon because I need a better heli). 1) Blade CX 2) Blade CP 3) Century V4 Hummingbird 4) Falcon 3D http://www.hobby-lobby.com/falcon.htm 5) Raptor G2 http://www.exceedrc.com/rc4chrtfhe.html 6) Eagle 50 http://www.exceedrc.com/rc4chrtfhe.html Any help/recommendations etc would be greatly appreciated and accepted.

| Re: Need Your Input Please Hey Ozzy, Welcome to the forums ,If youve never flown before and you dont want to invest in a simulator then really, the only choice is the blade CX, this has the stability and crash resistance you will need to learn the ropes, however, you will quickly realise that this heli is designed to learn on and wont progress you much further. To get a heli that will be able to take you further, you will need to be looking at a 6ch heli, the problem here is that they are MUCH less forgiving than the blade CX and if you dont get and learn a simulator first your going to spend lots of time and money fixing the thing. Also you need to take into account that there isnt really any such thing as a RTF heli, maybe a more accurate description would be "Pre assembled" because they all need to be checked before commiting them to flight and unfortunately, the more advanced models need more careful setting up. The other important factor that in this hobby more than others the old saying "you get what you pay for" seems to be very true. So to sum it up... If you want to get straight in to flying, then buy the blade CX and be ready to upgrade when the time is right to a bigger more advanced heli (T-Rex is good) or Buy a simulator and go straight in to the more advanced helis, in this case I think Id say the Raptor G2 would the best choice out of the helis youve suggested. I think I would suggest the T-Rex because its a proven design and you will understand how it goes together when you build it yourself. Simulators that you can try.. Reflex XTR (most expensive) www.reflex-sim.de Realflight G2 / 3 www.realflight.com a or FMS (free) Hope this helps... Azzy

Re: Need Your Input Please Aztek1701 I was thinking if I got a heli other than the CX, I would definately get a sim. Do you think I will get bored with the CX too soon. My only concern with the CX is that it would be something I would outgrow too soon and be out $200.00 that I could have put towards a good radio system or spare parts or something. Thanks again Aztek1701 for the great response.

Re: Need Your Input Please Oh, and whats the difference between flying/learning on a Blade CP and a Blade CP Pro? Pro more difficult? Less to upgrade later?

Re: Need Your Input Please the thing about a blade cx is that you can practice indoors when the weather is not cooperating. I have a honeybee cp2 and i hover that inside my living room. Sims are a great idea to get you reflexs and orientation up to speed. I you get one of the bigger helis i don't think you'll want to practice in your garage or living room. I really like the video on the falcon 3d but have never really heard or read anything about it. The raptor, i read that the electronics aren't that good. I think the cp pro has more upgraded parts on it. but if you have the money i would get a belt driven tail instead of a two motor heli. I've had my hbcp2 for about 2 months and am on my 3rd tail motor. Good Luck and keep us informed.

Re: Need Your Input Please If you want a helicopter for inside and have the room the cx is good to learn on. You might also look at the walkera dragonfly 5-4 same type of heli as the cx about half the money and they fly real well I have one and fly it all over the house valted ceilings sure are neat. If you want a good heli thats less than two hundred to the door the honeybee king has a gear drive tail no tail motors to burn out and it is six channel with a lipo battery included. These might be a option for you to look at. Also the dragonfly 5-4 has never had a glich and I have beat it like a slow horse at the track. It is like a timex it takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
