| Quick Introduction Just a quick hello and introduction from a new member.
I am very new to this new (an often expensive world) of RC Helicopters. I bought a very cheap “Dragonfly” off the internet as a “white elephant” father’s day gift and even though the thing was junk, I was hooked. A couple of weeks later, I went to a local hobby store and ended up buying an E-flight Cx, which was recommended because I am a beginner.
Now I must admit I am absolutely convinced that these manufactures don’t make that much money on the initial sale of one of these, because I have spent more on replacement parts then I originally did when I first bought the thing. Some of my crashes were so epic, that I was tempted to call the NTSB. And another time my dog (probably thinking it was a bird) jumped up, grabbed it out of mid-air, and proceeded to tear it apart.
But I am still having a blast and I can’t believe how much it makes me feel like a kid again. I like the fact that RC helicopters are very hard to fly, because I am always up for a good challenge.
I have actually got pretty good at flying the Cx, and will probably upgrade in a month or two. I know I will have a lot of stupid and newbie questions to ask, and I hope all of you “veteran” flyers are patient with this. |
