hirobo shuttle z i have a hirobo shuttle z that i purchased in a hobby shop on consignment a few years ago. The chopper has never been flown and i didnt recieve any type of instructions with it. Well i have procrastinated long enough and am ready to try to get this thing going.First i would like to know is this chopper worth investing a radio in and if so what radio/gyro should i go with. Any type of info that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.Maybe a local guy will hopefully see me on here and give me a hand. Hope you guys can help me out.

Hello, Is this Shuttle fully assembled except for the radio? Are the servos and a gyro installed? Since you've already spent some money on this when you bought it, probably would be worth getting a radio for it. Get a good radio so that if you want to upgrade your heli, you'll already have the radio. Maybe Colin can give you some advise, he's a Shuttle man and probably knows as much as anybody about them. I have a ZX and a ZXX, but have not finished getting them ready for flight. I've been spending my spare time lately on my Harley and neglecting the heli's. Good luck in whatever you decide. ![]()

I'm too new to this to give much of any advise, but from listening to others, Futaba and JR radios seem to be quite popular. A 6 channel minimum radio, and programable. I have a JR XP652, but would like to get a JR XP8103DT. I'm not sure but think if you go with a headlocking gyro, you'll need the 7th channel. I hope someone with the knowledge will let us know on that for sure. At least get a piezo gyro, and the best seems to be with the headlocking feature. I have a JR NEJ-1000 piezo gyro for my ZXX and a Futaba mechanical for my ZX. But if you want to get out of it as cheap as possible, mechanical gyro's and older heli radio's are available, that will get you flying. You can pickup some of these on E-Bay and possibly in the For Sale part of this forum. If you think you'll get serious in this hobby and may upgrade to a newer heli, you might want to get the good stuff now so you won't have to worry about it in the future. Just a thought. Lets see if anybody else will put their thoughts in on this. ![]()

I plan on upgrading in the hobby with the more experience i gain, so i would definately want a radio that i could use with other models. I would like to find a radio that has plenty of features but not very $$$$.That would last me awhile
