I havn't excluded petrol. The reason I was going the electric way was....quiet...no mess...no cutting out...no smoke...easy to charge/start...eco friendly. From past experiance (planes), it was a bit of a pain with petrol. Buying fuel, running in etc. It just seems less hastle. When I get into it I am sure I will go petrol. As its all new to me I am just listening to you all. I like to know quite a bit before spending all my hard earned money on something that may not be for me.

makes sense

just keep in mind that they are not that enviro friendly
if you take all those battery paks you will need.
and not that hastle free brushes on motor need cleaning or replacement, shorts in wirering, speed controlers lose contact i've even seen one catch fire due to a short.
10 min each flight so you need enough packs to make it worth wild or good field chargers-----you need a field box annyways,
it looks like i'm trying to discourage you but it is not the intention
since you have experience with petrol(planes)you know all you need to do once it's set properly is fuel and fly for 15/ 20 minutes
i'm just pointing out a few hastle with the electric counterpart.
a wew years back i had a electric tamya rc car that a short ended
a 150$ batt pack.so now i have a gas powered TMAXX
it's for my son he's 3 1\2

this is for info... happy shopping
a simulator might be a good start at lease you would know if you like flying helis

steff
