Upgrading from walkera

Hi there

I purchased my first heli, a walkera 22E last November. It did'nt last long! I then decided to buy a walkera hm 004, which I still have. I must have been one of the unlucky ones because its electronics seem to be very unreliable. On one occasion it got stuck on full throttle and landed in my neighbours tree 3 houses down The rear motor also has a tendency to stop turning whenever the heli banks, such as when I pull back to stop after moving forward. As you can imagine it has been quite expensive, I would'nt mind if it was pilot error.
The heli bug has bitten though, and after doing some research I have decided to get the right equipment. I have decided to stick with electric, as Im mostly indoor flying, the weather ain't always good where I live.

What I plan on getting:

Trex 450 x heli
Futaba 6 ex hp
futaba 401 gyro

I have a few newbie questions though, as I will be purchasing my equipment online, and don't wanna get incompatable parts.

1. I have seen the phrases ccpm, fm, pcm, and a few others in relation to control floating around on the forums, but have no idea what they mean. Are they a part of the transmitter or reciever controls? Do transmitters have the option of changing from one to the other? (I dont want to get the wrong one.)
2. Do gyros work independently, or do they work with the transmitter? If they do must I ensure that my transmitter will be compatable with my gyro?
3. What are the best batteries and chargers to get?
4.I have learnt to fly with a right hand throttle, Do transmitters have the option of swapping from left to right, or must I make sure I purchase the correct one?
5. Is there anything else that I may have missed, or dont know about?

Any help greatly appreciated as I don't have a local hobby shop to haunt!

Thanks Dave.

alright,
ccpm is the type of mixing and way r helicopter is setup
theres machanical mixing and theres ccpm
mechanical u can setup the bird mostly buy moving around servo horns and stuff like that to setup ur model and ccpm has it where the servos are closer to the relative swashplate so controls are quicker but the controls are mixed i think its
computerized collective picth mixing i could be wrong but bascially is a diff way to setup
2. fm band transmitters bascially use fm waves preset to control ur heli now if u get interfearnce ur outta luck
this is with most "cheap models" where u get a "stock transmitter"
with better brands and u can upgrade all helis to the "pcm" transmitters
which most have a computerized screen helping u set up ur controller and heli
the reason why most prefer pcm is cause if u do get interfearnce thers sometrhing called a fail safe which mainly gives ur heli the "last known good configuration" so if ur not too close to the ground u have a chance to regain control of ur heli after interfearnce passes.
the dx6 transmitter surpasses all of the interfearnces but has a limatation only giving u 3 point curves as aposed to the 5 point pitch and throttlew curves to set ur bid up

best batteries and chargers
thunder power are best and most expensivbe running u in 60$$-70$$ to get it
id stick with epower
vry reliable
high power good 3 cell balanced chargers only costing 10 bucks
and the batteries are cheap i brought a 2200mah lipo which gives about15-17 mins a flight and only cost 31 bucks rather then spending 70 bucks for same power
the only question is dose it outlast thunderpower and i havent had my lipo long enough
but beware lipos blow up if not charged properly and if charged too long take all precautions in using this type of battery
the stock nimh batters are heavy charge long short flight times...not cut out for learning purposes.....test flight at that

all transmitters are made in mode 1 and mode 2 u must alret ur seller which mode u need or they will send u usa mode 1 i belever with throttle left hand.
