how can you tell by looking?

how can you tell what brand and model a chopper just by looking at the chopper? im having real difficulty in spotting different models i can even find out what brand as i pointed out in my "heli noob" thread im looking at buying a chopper as cheap as posible, but im too noob to know how to tell a FP model from a CP model

if anyone could help me with a few yes/no answers as to if i should bid on a chopper, how much i should go up to on each etc it would be greatly appreciated

if you could add me to your MSN so we could chat in real time that would be great too

MSN: lost1.chubzzz@gmail.com

now for a guess at a model

i know its a dragonfly. thats on the box
is it a #36?

what should i pay for that? USD is fine i know how to convert
and seeing as its damaged what should i upgrade on it before flying??

Exclamation Re: how can you tell by looking?

major damage to rotor head cant run u more then 20-30 bucks
its justa series of plastic parts wrapped around an axis.. easy fix but id buy it new if i was a noob...new or in great condidtion.
a cp model
u can tell its cp
if it has 6channels
the blades are flat or take shape of symetrical flat blades.
has 4 or more servos i believe
gryo seperate

u can tell its fp if
the blades semm to look plasitc with a weird curve to it
3 or so servos
4 in 1

some cp models have 4 in 1's these helis are the ones with 2 motors

Hay chubz
I waslooking at the link you have in the above post and I am pretty sure that helicopter is a
22 or something similar . You can tell this by looking at the type of rotor head and the tail motor they are the main things that make me think it is a 22 E. The 36 has a vary different type rotor assembly and uses a belt driven tail

As for telling the deference between FP and CP at a glance you can tell by looking at the type of blades. A fixed pitch will have a wider and curved blade since the pitch can not change it relies on the shape of the blade to produce lift .

Let me know how you get on with it. I too have recently got a HoneyBee and am having "fun" trying to get to grips with it. Fiesty! I went down the route of getting a simulator as I was too paranoid about stuffing it big style. Got G3 which has a small electric heli - I've just about got it under control (simple hovers and forwards backwards flight, ie tail always pointing at me), such that I was going to risk taking my Bee out but the weather has been too wet n windy. So more hours on the sim.

I've seen a good deal on a Trex 450 SE that is seriously tempting me. I dunno, get the bug and I wanna go whole hog now!

As far as I know there is no antidote for this bugs bite Once its venom gets in the blood stream another addict is created
Check out the G3 Expansion Pack 1 it has two vary good electric CP helicopters that are more customizable than the little FP electric that comes with the simulator. They can be setup to handle vary similar to what ever CP you decide to go with. I would highly recommend the expansion pack for anyone with an electric fetish. It has really helped with my flight skills
