heli noob

first of all, Hello (seeing as this is my first post)

im about to buy a cheap heli that has been damaged and comes with more than enough spares to repair it, and getting it for under $50NZD

i was just wondering what an EP spyhawk was like? if its any good? and what i should move up to after i get the basics done in a budget model?

i can get my hands on an E-Sky honey bee for about $260NZD and was thinking of moving up to that later on

EH from what i see its fixed pitch...gonna be a hassle and wotnot
i mean u can learn with it...but the honebeecp2 is more of a beginner heli cause its cp
much more better...you learn more...
or the walkera 35 or 36
ud learn aloottt cause this heli is more like a real heli using one motor andbeing fully capeable...a few problems here or there but this is the most common and eisest heli to upgrade....it can turn out really goood for half the prioce ud pay for top line stuff like trex

Re: heli noob

yes but i was thinking that i repair a damaged heli and play with that. if it turns out that i should never be allowed a heli because i cant come to grips with all the factors at least i didnt waste much money 50.00 NZD = 31.7005 USD so yea. cheap first attempt

and as for if i like it ill end up going to a honeybee cp2. or better (reccomendations?)

alls im sayin is fixing it is gonna be a nightmare....
its fixed pitch...its all nightmares
why invest money in junk
its most likley gonna cost u over 30 usd bucks to fix it..
that 60 bucks is 1/3 of a real heli like honeybeecp2 or walkera 35/36
rule number one
if ur gonna buy something from someone
buy it in great condition
when its crashed lords know what they do with it... youll prolly get a soggy box of parts or a trashcan of parts....
2 buy quality
dont rerun the same thing over n over
buying the same stuff over n over
fixing junk isnt fun
and if u want a fixed pitch soo bad u can get a brand new not crashed 4ch one for 60-100 bucks..

Re: heli noob

i learned on FP heli's they have less parts and they are much more durable. a lot more easy to work on. there are a lot less adjustments But they are less stable than CP but with some upgrades like brushless motor and carbon fiber blades to increase headspeed they become much more stable. i still fly my cobra FP outside and my Moth in the house. Moth is a 20% cut down micro.
if you can fly FP then CP will be Easy
with a fp you can easily start flying on the kitchen floor. with a CP because of the headspeed it is recommended that you take it outside or gym

Re: heli noob

I also started off with a little FP Heli and still fly it quite a bit. For me it was the best trainer for learning hovering and simple flight. Because of its unstable flight characteristics it will make you work that much harder to stay in control so that when you go to a CP Heli you will find them a real joy to fly and with much more confidence in your ability.
