New to this thing

I had just bought a sport 500 heli and have it almost together but the rotor blades. i have bought some wiffle balls and that stuff so i wont do the big digging rotor blades in the lawn trick. My question is, since i have never flown a heli was the sport 500 a good heli to pick?

i assume its nitro and ima tell u my thing with nitro....ur gonna end up crashin and trashing ur heli 9times outta 10 if u dont have an electric cp helicopter to practice with, bladecp,honeybeecp2,walkera 36 or 60,mx400,trex.
and if u dont have a sim
realflight g-2 or g-3
reflex xtr
areofly pro.
and u might want an instructor or atleaast a flying culb so the guys at the club can help u through,. almsot any one will tell u this
everyone crashes . its part of the learning process.
so learn to crash on something cheap b4 u trash a 600-800 dolla helicopter
once again just my opinion. i cud be wrong and u might fly it perfectly 3d and all.. but those are the processes i would take and am takeing to gradually fit into nitro...it isnt something u jump into and hope for the better cause its very very dangerous and not a toy.
for real. do some more reading around and get an electric heli and a sim
cant do u no harm
after those i would only expect u to atleast be doing foward flight after a few tanks.
happy flies man

Re: New to this thing

the sport 500 is a fixed pitch gas heli isn't it
that would be a good start

read up on Radds Flight School first
