Unhappy Need help - tail wag like crazy

Hi,

I just got my 1st heli - Nexus 30, T6X radio set, Heli-max gyro.

Today I go out for my 1st try on hovering. I push up the throttle stick and no problem at the beginning fine but the head starts to rotate to left side. When throttle reaches 50% it turns like crazy to left. I try to apply right rudder the head starts to rotate to right side and turn like crazy again. Then I push the rudder stick to left but the head still rotates to right.

I don't know what's wrong in my setting and I have no idea how to fix it. I need you guys help.

Thanks,

Alex

It sounds like you have either a broken Gyro, or a misconfigured one.
There is a way to check if your gyro is working.

1) Turn on your transmitter and receiver. (don't start engines)

2) Hold up the heli and swing the rotate the heli left/right FORCEFULLY.

3) Take note of the Rudder Servo, does it move everytime you swing?

If yes, the Gyro is working, if not, check your gyro connection again!

4) Ok, gyro is working, but is it in the CORRECT direction?

5) Using your transmitter stick, move rudder RIGHT, observe the
movement of the Rudder Servo horn. Let's assume that it moves
in a clockwise direction.

6) So, if you move stick left, the servo should go anti-clockwise.

7) Incease your gyro gain to 100%.

8) Okay, this is the tricky part, you will need to swing the heli again
but this time OBSERVE very carefully the direction of the servo
horn (rudder) when you swing it. With gain at 100%, a small
swing should give you enough to see.

9) Swing Heli Clockwise (head to right, tail to left), okay.. which way did the servo horn move?

- Clockwise? Anti-Clockwise?

The gyro is suppose to COUNTER the swing, so if you move the transmitter stick to the right, and the Rudder Servo moves in a clockwise direction, the gyro should try to counter that move by making the gyro move in the Anti-Clockwise direction.

The opposite will be true.

Try this out and tell me what happens...
