Unhappy TT39 vs OS32SXH, and GY240 vs GY401

Hi Everyone ,

Well, I'm getting ready to take the plunge, so I went to my LHS to buy my setup today. Unfortunately, after talking to their heli pro I became even more confused than I was before. He asked me why I wanted to go with an OS 32SXH when the Thunder Tiger 39 that comes with the V2 ARF is such a great engine. Well, I had heard so many bad opinions of Thunder Tiger Heli engines, I just assumed that the TT39 was a bad one as well. He said that he's never heard of anyone having trouble with them, and that they're more powerful than the OS 32SXH. What do you guys know about these two engines, and do you think it's worth the price difference to go for the OS?
Also, when I went to pick out a gyro, he really gave me the hard sell on the GY401, even though I was interested in the GY240(mainly because of the price difference). He said that I would need a digital servo to control either gyro, and that the GY401w/servo would actually be cheaper than buying the GY240 and the digital servo seperately. He seemed very intent on selling the 401, but I felt like he really just wanted to sell the most expensive gyro. What do you all think?
I'm very appreciative of all the help I've received here on Helifever, and it's nice to have so many patient and helpful people to ask about this new hobby. I want to get the best set up I can afford, but it's hard to know where to draw the line. I just want to get in the air before summer slips by. Any advice on this, as always, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hey dude nice to see your realy interested in getting up in the air

well to start the tt 39 is good i've seen a few probs with the 36 but not with the 39 yet and even if theire was a prob i'm sure it could be fixed free of charge.if you go with the raptor v2 i would keep the engine and save the cash for now, anyways you can always go with os 32 later if you feel the need to.
as for the gyro humm the 401 is great i have 2 of them but you don't need this to start hell you can buy a 80$ telebee that would work just fine.i only had a mechanicle futaba with ballbearings to start in the first 3 years and it was just as easy to learn then with a digital one not nearly as good but it did the job.
if your low on cash i'll even send it to you for free well shipping cost only. then you could go for a 50 size instead but seriously you dont need the most expensive thing on the market once you get realy hooked and you will you can save up and upgrade latter it's all part of the fun..

steff
