Predator Gasser

Ok I'll have the first topic on here then

Guys I've been given the money by my nearest and dearest to get my self the Predator gasser as a Christmas present.
I have decided NOT to get the bigger engine or the carbon frames as this heli will be used purely for scale. and if required i will get the Industrial version further down the line.

As such with the exception of the A arm and Battery tray Reinforcement (think i was one of the first to notify Payton of this problem)What other upgrades would you guys recommend????

As well as the upgrades what size gears are available now or will be in the not too distant future to allow a lower and more scale like head speed

What carb to get

And finally for the UK fliers what fuel and oil are you using in you're gasser regardless of make and sources for it if not Unleaded (95ron)

Hi

I cannot comment on the predator gasser heli. I dont know of or have any experience with this heli.

I can tell you though that a recommended fuel mix for the Zenoah G230 engine, and one that has served well for other petrol engines according to Richard morris in a feature on the Benzin Acrobatic. It was the one fitted with the above engine. The fuel mix that he recommends is ordinary unleaded petrol and 'AMS oil' mixed at a ratio of 90:1 the engine is a 23cc Petrol engine.

Sorry I have no advice of my own, But I hope this helps a little bit or a lot

Regards
Darren

Hi Darren
Thanks for the reply..
Looking around other forums a 50-1 mix would appear to best although there are some who seem to be running less oil than this

Hi Roger,

I must agree this sounded a little light on the oil front to me. I have a 2stroke engine myself and I run it with a 50:1 mix. I am only pointing out what a article said in the Model helicopter world magazine. If you provide me your email I will happily scan the entire article and e-mail it to you.
My engine is a motorcross bike and another on my grass strimmer.

I have no idea on heli engines, I wish I had the budget to go in that direction Anyway if you think that the article may be of any use to you then I would gladly forward it.

Thanks
Darren.

Hi Roger,

Sorry it has been a while but the information you requested has been sent to you at the e-mail address you provided.
The reason for the delay was the magazine got moved away from where I left it and nobody (Wife) would own up.
Anyway I found it and allthough it is oo:40hrs I have sent it to you straight away. I hope you can make use of it still.

Regard
Darren

Exclamation Re: Predator Gasser

Well i just acuired a new gasser Condor Predator with the 260 engine and the manufacture recommends a ratio of five ounces per gallon of gas that equvalent to 25:1 ratio
for the first gallon then its a 32:1 ratio 4 ounces to a gallon..any thing lower then that would cause a warranty to be voided...I just got into this bird , havent flown it yet..Im still waiting on other parts . like the governer and flight stablizer...this was an expensive bird so im going to take it slow and put all the necesary equitment to fly it right the first time...by no mean did I mean that this is my first time hovering ..I got a rapture .30 I crashed a few tims so I know that this bird can be expensive if I fly it as a novice....I got a little experience in hovering so ...it should be so hard to maintain it from crashing .....the .30 blade are 25 bucks each the condor blades are 280 bucks each so you know Im going to take special precaution flying this beast
