Re: landing help

Hi there,

No, landing without the training gear is basically the same as landing with it. The difference is that if your not level when you land, the training gear wont save you and the heli will be able tip over. So the only thing you need to be sure of is that you are level. Just take your time and do it slowly and you will be fine.

Good luck... azzy

Re: landing help

You will wonder what the fuss was about after landing a few times without the training gear. Its suprising what the heli will land on....without tipping over...but its better not to tempt fate! The heli will handle better too.....and will present a smaller shape...so be careful of its orientation.

Good luck...and if you are totally new...then well done...its a magic feeling being able to fly these things.

Thumbs up Re: landing help

All great advice! Don't get into a panic to land right away. Pick your spot and take your time. If it doesn't feel right lift to a hover and try again. Always land in the tail in configuration even after you becoming a master.
I learned the hard way when dealing with a loose gyro.. wanted to get the thing down and landed (with the camera pod) with the left side facing myself and on uneven grass. I was just a newbe with 35 flights under my wings.
So Break A Blade , I'm off the the flying field!!

Re: landing help

Hello sreviewee. If you can put it down fairly gently without any horizontal movement you don't need the training gear. Once on the ground, you still have plenty of head speed even with the engine off. Till the blades slow down you could lift off and roll it over so be careful with the sticks.

Re: landing help

So how did the landing go? I am curious because I want to know if you thought there was any difference in landing without the training gear..Landing has never been any problem for me with or without training gear. But I think it flies better in the air without training gear..

Wow, just realized how old this post was...I bet srviewee is 3D master pilot by now...

Re: landing help

Just fight the urge to slam the throtle shut to fast or it will fall like a brick.
A nice slow progression down once you have done it a few times it will be second nature.
