______________PASTE_____________________ Modified Heli cam ultra light under an once battery included. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been fooling with airiel videos and as most of you know people give up on them when they see the horrendous interfeirence and poor quality results. One trick is to LIGHTEN up that load. I Broke apart the plug for the sqaure 9 volt battery that supplies the cam and wouldn't you know there is a 9 to 5 volt voltage limiting diode in it, sort of a cheezy bec with a 300 miliwatt limit. I removed the plug and about 20 grams of weight and connected it to the BEC of my chopper, the tiny amount of power it drains was un noticable but the interfeirence was horrendous, so now I bought one small [lighter in weight] duracell 28L 6 volt camera battery and here is a pic of the whole sha-bang battery and all under an once!! http://x10.putfile.com/3/6817521925.jpg <a href='http://www.putfile.com'><img border='0' src='http://x10.putfile.com/3/6817521925.jpg' alt='Hosted by Putfile.com'></a> http://f5.putfile.com/5/13214182231.jpg http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/13214182231.jpg&s=f5 Does anybody know how to turn ON IMG code in this forum? Or is it snafu? Pictures from putfile used to auto play in here? Now another experiement proved successfull is to tether the camera 6" away from the chopper [eliminates the interfeirence from ESC and motor]!! So I am dangaling it 6" from the bottom of the skids with fishing line in 3 points, at a hover or slow forward flight the interfeirence is almost all gone and the wind doesn't effect it wobbling to much, now I am going to rap this whole thing in tin foil [accept the antanni and see if that gives me 100 percents. Stay tuned video links will be here shortly this evening 05/133/2006. ----------------UPDATE_____________________________ I changed to Software codecs that I was using and now it seems bullet proof to interference , so now the cam is located in the cap!!! More to come when I can post IMG code in a thread some where, I will leave a link when I find an apropeate thread with IMG code to continue. Unless you guys don't mind the seperation of web sites to view ----------------UPDATE-8:30-pm-sUNDAY__________________________ Here is a link to the inner view of my spycappy, this is small and light with 200 foot range, but there is a Hardware Hack to improve that more on that later.--- http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/13321234535.jpg&s=f5 Here Is a Link to my Laptop Reciever capture combo , makes for a portable and fast set up and tair down, eliminates the figitty work to getting ready for airiel pix. http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/13321260146.jpg&s=f5 Now the Modification to my FRAME so I can Push the Cappy Forward 1-1/2" to make room for Long Batteries and SpyCam------ http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/13321050746.jpg&s=f5 I had to convert "Black and White " to make it easier to see the Carbon Flats I used to Make it solid, You can pick up my Heli By the Nose and nothing bends or creeks when you do. Two Carbon flats where used under the nose to extend the Battery tray as well, total weight added was 30 grams , not bad. If you surf my putfile site you will notice a video file of my chopper in a hover with the video being the on board experiment of a 1 half pound hand held video cam and as you can see the heli was working to hard to fly the cam, It would work better with carbon blades and a 14 volt system on the choppy, but I scratched it due to bloated costs of the 14.1 volt upgrade.---------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE-------I SCRATCHED THE VIDEO TO SAVE SPACE--------- Scott |

Go there and see the pix on how I am doing it, there is a post in here explaining it all, I love this subject as well. Wish this thread had active [IMG] turned on, it would help us alot on this subject. Update: I took this airiel video testing my pitch response after balancing out the chopper, allong comes a T-Storm and wind gusts 20MPH+ but I Kept her up for over a minute then chickened out when the rain drops started knocking on my chin. Notice at the end of the video the dark clouds rolling in the upper right hand corner of the screen just before I plonk her down in a moment of calm oppertunity!! http://media.putfile.com/AirShot-Pitch-Controll-Test There is a thread in the main room"Workshop" called "Modifications" for now on I will be posting there, as you can see there is alot more PHOTO threads and activity in there, this thread seems to have died off. Scott QUOTE OF THE DAY " If you can just hold still I can pull this chopper out of your **** with out toooo much pain; I told you you should stand back behind the fence". Scott |
