twister cp tail spin

just got a twister cp this is my first heli when i increase throttle the tail rotor spin up and the heli just starts to spin round i have moved the trim on the transmitter fullly to the left but that is not enough to stop the spinning.
i have played with the setting on the 4 in 1 unit ie. gyro gain and proportional but no better
can anyone help me??

Re: twister cp tail spin

How bad does it want to spin around? Is it hoverable, if given some constant corrective rudder input? Mine spins to the left, so I need right trim. Your spins opposite? I have read about the heli coming with the leads accidentily soldered reversed, which turns the rotor backwards. You can tell by feeling if the tail rotor thrust is going correct to offset the induced spin of the heli.

Re: twister cp tail spin

I Haven't Got To The Hovering Stage Yet But I Think If Would Be Posisble If Given Constant Left Rudder. I Have Reversed The Tail Rotor Leads And The Heli Wants To Spin To The Left. I Have Adjusted The Gyro Fully Glockwise As Per Setup Video But This Makes The Problem Worse ,the Tail Rotor Is Spinning At High Speed Before The Main Rotor Has Starded To Spin If I Set The Gyro Fully Anti-glockwise Things Are Little Better But I Still Need To Use Constant Corrective Left Rudder To Stop The Spin

Re: twister cp tail spin

My tail motor starts turning before the main rotor, too. I did not get the setup video. Are you turning you throttle trim all the way up? That is what I do before starting to attempt hover. Your tail tries to turn the the heli clockwise, resulting from the direction it pushes the air, correct? This is the way it should be. Start with both gyro settings in the middle range. Set it on a smooth surface (wood, smooth concrete, linoleum). Start making tiny adjustments, then turn up the throttle trim, then give it throttle input so it gets light, and see which way it turns(a few seconds will tell you).....repeat. This is what I did. For me, turning both 2/3rds clockwise of the range seemed to get me kinda close. After that it was 20 minutes of change, hover attempt, change, hover attempt. I finally got mine so in a hover the tail stays put.
I want to warn you that I am new to this sport, and am only telling you how I got my heli dialed in. If someone with more experience than I responds, I would probably listen to them.

Let me know if you have any luck.

Re: twister cp tail spin

No I Didn't Think To Move The Throttle Trim Up I Have Done That And It Gives Me More Rotor Speed I Have Tried The Gyro Setting In All Positions But Still Need To Have The Rudder Trim Fully Left Plus Rudder Stick Half Way To The Left To Stop Heli From Spinning .when Trying To Hover Is In Normal For The Heli To Leap 2-3 Feet In The Air?

Re: twister cp tail spin

Not really, if you are inside, and not having any drafts blowing. VERY SLIGHT wind movement will make it move around, and up/down. Let me ramble a little...

So... if inside, and with mine: I slowly advance the throttle and try to keep everything under control. Right after I break ground, I back the throttle 1 click, so as not to get higher than I planned to go. The more experience you get, the faster you catch EVERYTHING. I am now to the point that I give it enough throttle to get it right off the ground, and immediatly back off 2 or so clicks, and find myself at 6 to 10 inches. This actually gives a cleaner and less stressfull takeoff, but if you cannot then control the hover, you are maybe asking for trouble. I learned by not letting it get more than 3 inches off the ground, but I think my heli came set up pretty good. I suggest keep playin gwith the gyro settings. I think I had more success with turning gain down low, and playing with proportional. It seamed there was some sweet spot that seemed to work better than anywhere else I found. Also, throttle does effect the heading, but once throttle is stabilized, heading is controlled by the gyro.

Re: twister cp tail spin

hi guys

iv got a twister to pratice with when i cant get to the flying field to fly my glow powered heli,i have same problem with my twister full right trim and still it keeps turning to the left,iv tried all the settings i can with the 4-1 but still no joy,all i can say if anyone buys this to see if they would like to fly glow helis then they would think sod that they fly crap, the twister is nowhere near the same as a glow 30 size heli i think the twister flys bad and has no resemblance to how a 30 size glow heli flys, dont waste your money buy a proper 30 size glow heli,
this is only my opinion

PAul999 -
HAve you flown any small electrics? I ask because I have not flown an other than the Honeybee2. I have heard that fuelers are bigger, and therefore easier to fly, but I do not have much faith that such a broad statement is accurate. I figure the gyro has GOT to be better, but I do not know what to think about fuel helis as far as consitent power. any response?

THANKS!
