Question Best Electric for Beginners

I have an interest in beginning to fly RC helicopters. I would like to get an electric collective-pitch helicopter to start. Any sugeestions on a decent one to start with, perferably for a low cost ($200-400)?

Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Brian

Bhiggins,

Start with Fixed Pitch, you won't regret it. Hummingbird Version 3 with 4 channel Elite radio is brilliant. Indoors and very very calm days outdoors only.

Re: Best Electric for Beginners

As a beginner myself, I would recomend the Blade CP from Eflite. This is a collective pitch micro heli that comes with a CCPM TX. It will cost you 219$ plus s/h if you order online.
I would however not follow my example in learning how to fly. Buy a sim, and learn and burn on that first. I was able to hover and fly about for many mins after some trial and error (12 crashes later). This heli is great right out of the box, and it comes with everything you will need to fly.
And for what it is worth, I thought collective pitch was easier than fixed, at least with flying a friends Mini Dragon fly.

Good luck, and be safe.

Re: Best Electric for Beginners

collective pitch is a little easier but there is more to break and set up on a cp when you crash. There are good fp and crap, that's why I recomended the Hummer. If you want to see a FP hummer in action, flying and crashing then take a look here: http://website.lineone.net/~sarrac/Movies
