RC Dragonfly 4ch helicopter capabilities

Hi, I have just seen a RC Dragonfly 4ch helicopter for sale online for about $90 and was wondering how good it is. Does anyone know it's capabilities and how good it is?

I have that one, i bought it on ebay, i know of one other person that has it... I am just a noob to helo's so for me i have nothin' to compare it too, but i can tell i am making progress. The only bad thing i can say about it is that you might have to get a new servo or two, for some reason, they come with ones that are really glitchy. One of mine was like that then after about a week it gave out totally. New higher quality servo's are only like 13-15 bucks tho

Re: RC Dragonfly 4ch helicopter capabilities

i have a dragonfly 22d and am also learning the ins and outs of it. so far i was able to get it off the ground at about 2 feet and it went about 36 feet before meeting the brick steps on my front porch. it seems the breeze i thought was minor turned out to be close to disaster to the light weight helicopter. however the main blades came off and the rear blades folded but every thing straightened out and the main blades just snap back over the bearings on each side of the main shaft. i am once again trying to get it to lift off straight up. i have found it helpful to put a small white mark on the mail blades about 1 inch from the end. this helps by making a white circle when the blades are turning so you can see if the forward and rearward dips appear when trying to go forward or backward. i also used this to see that when facing the tail end of the helicopter and giving left and right commands they were backwards. i corrected this with the alerion option on the option block on the back of the transmitter. i pushed that option to the opposite directon i had it on and turned off the heli, then powered back up and let it normal up to the new option and that corrected that problem... still trying to learn all there is to getting this to hover. i never give up. good luck

Cool Re: RC Dragonfly 4ch helicopter capabilities

Even with good balance and trimming the #4 takes keen reflexes to maintain control-don't even THINK about flying in windy conditions.I highly recommend heatsinks especially for the tail motor.Having a spare tail motor or 2 is a good idea.

He said i flew bettre then %90 of the beginers. So i wonder how well i'll go with this helico??

Cool Re: RC Dragonfly 4ch helicopter capabilities

Believe me,with a #4 Dragonfly you will be happy just to hover and fly in circles. It is a basic heli not capable of aerobatics-you need a collective pitch heli to do stunts. The Dragonfly is an inexpensive way to learn the basics of helicopter flying until you can move up to a better heli.
