Re: is there any dragonflies out there

hi there, i am the owner of a dragonfly 22d intruder. 4 channel electric helicopter. i am still trying to get it to the hover point and it is quite a challange. i am having fun with it, even though it only left the ground on one flight that ended up 3 seconds later in a crash. however this unit takes a licking and keeps on ticking. i just straightened out everything and reattached the parts that left the craft on impact. i put the heli on a piece of paneling i had in the utility room and i just taped the skids down with duct tape and turned on the unit and started tuning it and adjusting the trims. then i removed the duct tape and attached a 1/2 ounce fishing weight to each of the 4 posts on the skid, with quick snap on fishing swivels. now it would not turn over and i started trimming and balancing it to get it level and found i had a problem with the tail roter. one blade is not functioning correctly and i am working on that problem at present. it is a lot of fun and i shall get it going soon...... i hope.

Re: is there any dragonflies out there

i think my dragonfly 22d is now ready and trimmed out, for a good flight, however now the weather is a bit too windy for me. i shall keep everyone posted. the last 4 attempts would have been great except for the slight breeze that came up and i didn't pay attention before lift off and it came after me 3 different times. however on the plus side, each of the the 3 liftoffs were straight up until it got into the breeze. then i had to run to the left to get out of its path. it was at that point that i had a lot of trouble deciding which was left or right since i was running and trying to control the helicopter at the same time. stay tuned for more developements.

Re: is there any dragonflies out there

4 channel is much easier. In 6 channel heli, you need to take care with the pitch control(s).
I fly a 4 channel dragonfly #4 in office today. It is much easier to control compare with my 22E.
I also fly a 6ch dragonfly #36, it is much much better
may be the gyro make the heli more stable.
I recommand a #36 if you have $$. Otherwise, buy somthing 4 channel.
