Head-lock Gyro

Hello everyone.
This is my first time on your forum.
I am very happy to be surrounded by so many knowledgeable individuals and am seeking the wisdom and answers that will help me with my hobby.
I currently have an Esky 6 CH Belt-CP and a Blade cp pro, and would like to purchase an Esky 6 CH Honey Bee King 2
My question is, if I install a head-lock gyro, do I need to remove the original one that came with the bird?
Also what do you think of the inexpensive ESKY EK2-0704B Head Lock Gyro?
Thank you in advance for your inputs and direction.
Tino.

Re: Head-lock Gyro

Hi TINO
Welcome aboard. I don't have any experience with the Esky gyro. But you defonetly should remove it if your planing to replace it with something else. You want to keep the heli as balanced as possible and stacking components will defeat that. Have you hade problems with you gyro and that's why you want to replace it?

Re: Head-lock Gyro

I haven't had any problems. I simply want my boom to be a little more stable.
Thank you.
Tino.

Re: Head-lock Gyro

When you say you want the boom to be a little more stable I'm not sure I understand what you mean. What is it exactly that is happening? If its tail drift or wag you may be able to solve the problem with gain adjustments. If your having trouble with tail drop than its something other than the gyro. Ether way I'm sure we can figure out what's going on and get it fixed so you can get down to enjoying the hobby. Like you mentioned earlier there's a lot of vary knowledgeable people hear that can diagnose just about anything.

Re: Head-lock Gyro

I think I am spoiled.
I got the opportunity to fly a TREX 450 and the thing was so stable and easy that my grandson could fly it.
My belt cp is ok but I constantly have to fight the sticks.
It is trimmed very well but once she starts moving I have to fight her back.

Re: Head-lock Gyro

It has a lot to do with "Quality"...the TREX is a VERY good machine!! the Esky..is, what it is...

You can play with it and spend a lot of money on it but it will never fly like a better heli..
My advice;
spend the money on the better machine..it will reward you with confidence and better flights...

My $.02

Re: Head-lock Gyro

yes, I agree.

I have a Mini Predator/Falcon 3D which is a cheap and cheerful heli....flies well for what it is but the bane is the radio gear and lack of flexibility...but its CHEAP...so what can I expect?

Well I got a Trex 450 XL some time ago...and what a difference! it handles well and copes with a breeze or two.

If you are quite serious then use the cheap heli and get some time with it...if your sure of the hobby...that its for you then you could go the Trex route. I would reccomend it highly, parts are quite cheap and upgrades are plentiful...and its such a popular heli that there is a LOT of expertise should you want advice.
