ESC Is shutting Down -- Your Help Greatly Appreciated

All:

After about 5 to 6 minutes of flight time my ESC is shutting down (RPM decline drastically). After allowing it to rest for about 30 seconds flight is then regained but after 1 to 2 minutes my ECS will shut down again. My setup is running off of a li-poly 4650mah 11.1 volt pack (3S3P). There is 1 CPU fan installed over the ESC and a second fan installed behind the motor for cooling.

My set up consists of the following:

Hacker C40-12T & Master 40-3P controller
Futaba GY-401
1-Futaba S9254 Digital Servo for TR
2-Volz Micro-Maxx XP Digital Servos for cyclic
HiTEC HPD-07RH RX

All suggestions that would help me to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Mike

I don't have any direct experience with the electreonics used in your setup. However you might see If there's a way to mount a heatsink on the speed control. Have you asked the spd ctrl mfg about the trouble? Is your amp load greater than the spd control rating? Just a few thoughts...

If its shutting down due to overheating in just a couple of minutes its time to invest in a new one. Ive had similar problems with a specific brand of servos they just stopped responding. I sent them into the mfg and received new ones. Just a thought.

I installed a heat sink over the ESC for additional cooling... No more over heating problems.
